The hardest thing about being young heroes on the same team was that you all could relate while also hiding secrets from each other.

They were all raised differently, held different fears, held different hopes and reasons to be standing as a hero so young. They all had their own stories, their own futures and they were all their own person.

Sharing a cave worked for those who could stay away from home to use the room given to them. Mentioning over going to a sleep over only worked if your parents trusted you that much or just didn't care. Living at the cave was fine but that meant you didn't face the same road works that those who held a guardian did.

Travelling to and from the cave to work as a team, to bond and complete missions weren't always easy when you had somewhere else to patrol afterwards or before.

Some had more than one life to live. Others just had the one and some tried balancing both lives on the borderline of almost being the same person inside and out of wearing a mask.

They were also all dealing with puberty in different stages and in different .. races ways.

M'gann was trying to understand human emotions that floated around her and sometimes consumed her.

Connor was trying to understand himself, what each feeling meant and what they were named when he felt them.

Kaldur was trying to mix two cultures togehter, to live on land and in sea.

Artemis was still on the borderline that the world was against her.

Wally was facing crushes and spots on his back from sweating so much in costume.

Dick was trying so much to make Batman proud of him while also trying to be nothing like the dark knight.

Roy was hitting his rebellion age.

None of them were meant to act out. They'd be scolded and lectured if they acted their age while wearing their masks or going by their hero names. They were all meant to be serious, tall and able like any Justice League member.

It left them all trapped in the world of being only seen as child while expected to act as an adult.

Hence, when KF found a certain bird all curled up at one of end of the sofa, a film4 random movie playing on the large tv. He didn't comment over wasting free time on a film instead of using it to train like some mentors would mention. Instead, he grabbed some snacks and sat down the opposite end.

Robin stealing a couple of handfuls from the snacks and forcing Wally to shuffle to the middle seat to make it easier to whisper snarky comments or jokes over the badly made film. Wally not moving away when Connor came storming into the room and slumping down in his own preferred arm chair.

Robin never being good with others randomly getting into his space and if someone beside him were tensed, he'd tense and prepare for a fight. Kidflash knew his bird well enough to sit next to him when others join, keeping him tucked between his body or the end spot.

Connor looked entertained by the film, seeming impressed that the screen was showing something that wasn't static. Poor guy still haven't worked out how to use the tv. Everyone's tried teaching him at least once but it never sticks.

Kaldur came along next. Seeming tired and having a heavy weight placed upon his shoulders. Nothing new but he at least seemed to get rid of some burdens as he sat on the other armchair, mostly known as his own spot.

Wally letting his cowl fall back, getting more comfortable and testing his luck over four of them being in a room without something going on or a mentor calling them away just yet. Risking a glance down to the bird leaning into him and knowing he made the right move.

By getting comfortable himself, he was lowering Robin's defences enough to let him relax and sit almost valuable among them all.

Wally could tell that Robin had drifted off to sleep time Artemis had came grumbling into the room and slumped on the last spot on the sofa. Leaving him squashed between her heavily breathing form and a napping bird all cuddled up into his side.

The next movie was playing by now. None of them actual knew the name or what they were watching. They were just a bunch of teens having some day time sleep over and hang out. Snacks being shared out and all of them taking care not to wake Robin.

Seeing him asleep at the cave was the one point they could all be reassured over him getting some sleep in his life. They've all seen how dangerous and busy Gotham was. How Robin and Batman couldn't go a single night without being needed.

Their teams mission, school and anything else he deals with before arriving at the cave or Gotham's patrol would keep him busy. It didn't leave much time for him to actual sleep and they've all worried over him getting hurt due to no longer having the will power to stay awake anymore.

M'gann came along, sitting on the arm of Connor's chair and seeming rather interested in the film that none of them actual knew the story plot over. A comment leaving her lips that gained Artemis insulting the main character and a small debate between Connor and Kaldur over certain acts being done wrongly or being inpossible for a human.

Wally chuckled, enjoying the time and only risking a glance down to his bird when the last person arrived. Roy having gotten his message and decided he had enough free time to check on them. Ruffling Robin's hair, a silent tell for the younger teen to go back to sleep before he sat on the floor. Back to the arm on Robin's end and just being a comforting presence. Being protective over the team and more so towards the original trio.

All of them just enjoyed the moment while it lasted.

Laughing, joking and talking through the final stage of the film. Snacks ran out and drink breaks allowed during the adverts. All of them taking care to not raise their voices to a certain point or use certain tones, knowing it'd awaken Robin and send him in a defensive state while he figures out if a threat was close by or not.

The ending of the film filled them all with disappointment.

Because it became the end of the fragile and rare moment.

Their taste of normal was over and they all knew it.

Robin woke, sitting up and stretching before giving a special smile meant for Wally and him alone. The rest watching him flip over the back of the sofa, a wave sent over his shoulder as he walked away, called upon by Batman through the coms.

Roy left next, knowing that once one of them left than the others would soon follow and he didn't feel like talking to any of the older heroes right now. Patting Wally's knee reassuringly before patting Kaldur shoulder before he left quietly.

Kaldur left next, deciding it was time to return to his home as no mentions of missions were brought up and he'd be needed by his king. Artemis following him towards the zeta tube, mentioning over having to redo some homework.

Wally glanced towards Connor once static filled the screen and found the clone glaring at the remote in his hand. M'gann humming badly as he floated towards the kitchen to start cooking and unknowing letting Wally know it was time to leave.

A flick of his cowl back on and Kidflash was back in motion, the fond memory tucked away in his heart to be remembered when he desperately needed good dreams.

And in a Flash, he was gone.
