Request – Can you do like a enemy to lovers where the reader gets hurt a little and he realizes he's in love with her and then proceeds to show her?

Author's Note – this wasn't defined to have full "smut" so this will be a little "smutt-ish" if you will! LOL

"I don't like this," You said for the third time from the back seat of Kayce's truck.

"Didn't ask," Kayce grunted from the front with Ryan in the passenger seat.

All of you were in bulletproof vests and for some reason, because you had once been an investigator in Wyoming, Kayce had brought you with him to check out this rancher's trailer. He owed the state almost five thousand from past due tax exemptions that turnout out not to be. Ryan was a Livestock Agent, as was the random guy next to you...and then there was Kayce.

You wouldn't say you hated Kayce, but you sure as hell didn't like him. He was his daddy's favorite by default, and it pissed you off the amount of shit he got away with. One day he showed up in the bunkhouse and then the next he was in the foreman's cabin, running the place.

You knew the ranch was a family-owned one...but didn't this member walk away?

The two of you bickered like an old married couple too. You were pretty sure Kayce did hate you and your stubborn ways. You were also mouthy with them, something he pointed out all the time.

"I was an investigator," You reminded Kayce. "I'm not good in a shootout."

"Ain't gonna be a shootout," Ryan looked back at you.

"With him, it's always a shootout!" You pointed at Kayce and saw Ryan crack a smile.

"Do you ever shut up?" Kayce asked you.

"She's got a point, boss," The guy next to you chuckled.

"Shut the fuck up," Kayce snapped.

You saw his eyes catch yours in the rearview mirror before he quickly looked in front of him. You wiggled in your seat, adjusting your vest that felt too loose on top and too tight around your waist, but when Kayce walked up behind you and tightened it, you didn't really have a choice at adjusting it.

Kayce pulled to a stop a little way away from the trailer and you all got out. The four of you checked your gun's safety and then proceeded to follow Kayce up the gravel driveway. You were behind Ryan, who was behind Kayce, with the random guy behind you.

Kayce walked up the steps slowly and knocked on the door loudly.

"Livestock Commission, open up!" Kayce yelled, signaling Ryan to walk around.

Ryan bumped your shoulder and nodded his head for you to follow. You rolled your eyes at all this but decided to follow instructions. You heard a door shut hard from the inside as you and Ryan got around to the back,

"Don't stand next to the wall," Kayce barked as he strode passed you.

You jumped at his announcement but walked away from the wall. Then the back door opened up and a man quickly stepped out and fired his shotgun.

It all happened quickly.

There was yelling and gunfire all around you, but something hit you right in the shoulder it felt like, sending you flying backward and onto the ground. You groaned as you reached up to your shoulder.

"Y/N!" Ryan leaned down, his gun still raised. "Are you okay?"

"Do I look okay?" You spat but then hissed when your fingers touched a very hot metal object.
