Wally stood in the corner of the room with Artiems, formerly Aqualad now Aquaman, Superboy, and Miss Martian all stood together, tears streaming down each of their faces. Wally was pulled harshly into a hug by Artiemes, who muttered under her breath about them both needing it. Conner followed Artemis' lead, pulling Megan into a tight hug and holding her close as if to protect her from the world around them. Kaludur stood, his boyfriend was not present at the moment, on a mission in Atlantis but he still stood emotion evident on his face, regret and pain.

The formerly teenage heroes looked at each other and nodded. In many other instances, they would have utilized the mind link Megan had set up almost constantly between the friends, but they did not need to discuss this. Wally walked over to Barry who stood at the front of the room, leaning onto a chair, quite possibly looking too casual, he asked, "What's the plan?"

Barry's shoulders seemed to deflate in relief at the understanding that he did not have to further defend the information that he had acquired. Barry then pulled up a map of Gotham and the various zeta tubes, one was marked in bright red compared to the various green dots scattering the map of the soon to be destroyed city. "The one in red is the Batcave, someone needs to get it approved by someone in the cave bef-"

"I got it" Wally interrupted, running over to a computer in the back of the room. "Kid Flash to cave, Kid Flash to cave"

A moment of silence rang through before a voice came over the speakers, "Wally?" It was Dick without a doubt, his voice was muffled and seemed confused, no doubt that he was shocked by the sudden communication from his former best friend.

"We know about the Joker's plans, what he and the other rouges are coordinating, we want to help in any way we can, please Dick allow us to help it has been so long but I need-"

Dick cut off Wally's rambling, "I'm not even going to ask, just come to the cave, we are already making a plan... Some help would be much appreciated". Wally nodded although it could not be seen.

"We are on our way"

After getting into their uniforms those who had been approved to enter the Batcave stood outside of the Zeta Tube.  Those who had been closest to the batfamily stood at the front, Wonder Girl, who had somehow convinced her mentor to allow her to come along, the original team, Wonder Woman and Superman. The rest lingered behind, knowing their purpose but not quite their place. Superman flew up above the group to properly address everyone.

"We made a mistake once by not showing up when they needed us, we are not going to make it again. I don't care how you feel about their actions, the work that these individuals, powerless mind you, have put into protecting the world and shaping the world for heroes is not to be undermined. They are strong and do not underestimate the work that these individuals will put into protecting their city and, more importantly, each other. We have a city to save and people to help, put your egos aside and think about the lives at stake. We are heroes, if we do not put in the effort to help those in need despite having the ability to do so that makes us no better than the villains we fight. Some things can not be avoided, don't get me wrong, some deaths you cannot prevent but to claim you are a hero you must act like it." Superman states above the silent listeners. As he finishes his speech, he receives several nods and begins his descent. Once he reaches the ground he is stood in front of the group. As soon as his feet touch the ground Wonderman squeezes his shoulder and the two lead the group of heroes through the Zeta Tube.

-------In Gotham------

Stood in front of the Zeta tube when the group materialized was Dick Grayson, in the flesh. The costume he was wearing was not his own, it was the one Bruce had worn, the same one he dreaded putting on. From her place Black Canary felt herself frowning further, she felt herself deflate at the idea of the dread that must have filled Dick every time he put on the dreaded costume.  When those in front of her failed to make a move she shoved forward, walking right up to the child she had seen grow into a young man.

Dinah smiled lightly, "Hi Dick"

She received a smile in return as he opened his arms up for a hug. "Hi Anut Dinah, it's been a while". She nodded and accepted the hug, pulling the hero close. They stayed like that for a minute, her smile tainted by the feeling of hot tears on her shoulder.

Hey. Sorry it has been a minute, school hit me harder than a brick and I kinda forgot about this to be honest. I plan to continue, I kinda rushed to get this out. It might be a bit longer to get the next part out because my writing has improved so I want to take time to edit the chapters that I do have out to make them a bit clearer. I know this is short but I don't want people thinking I abandoned the fic. I want to finish this as soon as possible but I want it to be a decent read.
