It's time for the extra curriculars and I'm on the soccer field, running laps. Apparently, the day I skipped to watch Ava, I wasn't the only one from the team who had that thought. Coach didn't take it well hence the reason we have sixteen teenage boys running round the field in circles. Nate's lucky he doesn't have to pass through this. The dude would've thrown up his lunch after one lap.

A human sized phoenix passed me, also doing the laps.

The mascot skipped as well??

It made me laugh to see the guy in a costume running like a sick penguin. Seems like no one cares about soccer. Not when there's a football team...with Nick as the star quarterback.

"Hey Angelo." Mark called the boy close to me as he sprinted to us. "You going to Mr Turner's party on friday, right?"

"Yeah." Angelo grinned. "My dad is sealing a deal with him. Hopefully I'll end up spending the night with Ava."

"Get em, boy." Mark cheered, fist bumping the latino.

I rolled my eyes, sprinting away from the fools. Friday is going to be fun.

"Alright boys! Gather round. We're gonna work on your penalty kicks." Coach said, writing on his clipboard.

He's not even gonna give us a break?!

Unified groans were heard from the guys around. Phoenix boy took of his head and threw on the floor before passing out... possibly from heatstroke.

Who jogs with a costume on?

"Ranbir, Kai. Take him to the nurse's office." Coach said, focusing on his clipboard.

The boys step out, dragging bird boy out of the pitch. They literally dragged him as they were still weak from running laps.

"Group yourselves into two. You'll practice penalty shoot outs against each other. Losing group runs ten laps before hitting the showers." Coach explained before picking the captains of each group; Angelo and Ralph.

"...and I'll take Kayden." Angelo said, pointing to me as I go to join his group.

We are seven in each group as Ranbir and Kai did not return. Lucky guys. The goalies were picked and the game kicked off.

The goalies were very good as only one team has managed to score one goal, which was Ralph's team...or maybe the rest of us were just terrible at soccer. Luckily we still had thirty five minutes left.

"Twenty minutes left, boys." Coach said, blowing his whistle.

Oh shit.

It was now Angelo's turn from our team. He walked to the ball with confidence and a look of determination on his face. No one on our soccer team was good but Ralph and Angelo had the determination to learn, making them top the rest of us.

"Is that Ava?" A voice said to my left, making me turn to him.

"What's she doing here?" Another said. I turned to the bleachers and indeed, Ava was really here. Sitting. Watching us play, with Lily by her side.

I saw Angelo flex his arms with a smug smirk as he ran to the ball, kicking it with the right amount of force with his leg angled properly. The ball flew with precision, hitting the net, putting the goalie to shame.

"GOOAAL!!" Our team yelled, running to him as he threw his arms out, embracing us. He later pulled out of the hug, before pointing to Ava who rolled her eyes at his gesture. I snorted, amusedly.

Ralph went for his kick and missed it. It was now my turn. I wanted to make this shot to impress Ava and possibly Coach Stan.

I took my place behind the ball. Taking deep breaths as I calculated the angle of trajectory between the ball and the post. At the sound of the whistle, I took off, angling my leg and kicking the ball. It flew with a little much force as I had anticipated. But then...

*******

"I'm so so sorry, Pierre." I apologize once more to the goalie that was being aided to the nurse.

"You rat. This isn't over you son of a bitch." He gritted holding his bloody broken nose.

That didn't go as planned. At all. I turned back to the rest of the group that were hurdling round the coach. A few gave me glares while others just scooted away from me.

"Luckily for you all, no one would be doing laps." Coach said.

"But the losing team was supposed to." Ralph said, defensively, pointing to me.

"Yeah but..." Angelo said, turning to the post. "We didn't lose. Kayden's ball crossed the line after hitting Pierre!" He grinned.

"Exactly." Coach said. "Hit the showers." He said, dismissing us.

"Yeah." A boy on my team cheered, patting my back.

"Good job, bro." Angelo said, smiling at me.

He looked behind me and it seemed as though his smile got wider as he quickly moved behind me.

"Hey Ava."
