Chapter 6: The Dive

                                    

                                          
JULES POV:
March, 26, 1986.
After that crazy night we decided to go to the Wheeler's again and just get some sleep.
But we are now on our way to where Eddie is hiding.
Nancy's driving and Robin's on the passenger seat.
Max and I were seating behind them, and Steve, Lucas, and Dustin is in the back eating some Pringles that we bought.
"Not to be a wimp, but can I sit in the car? 'Cause this is gonna totally and royally suck." Robin told Nancy.
"It'll be fine." Nancy replied.
"I just can't stand to see those doe eyes of Eddie's break again. I really, really can't." Robin said.
"Atlease he can drink himself into feeling better." Steve said as he shows to us the six packs of beers that we bought earlier.
"That's what my mom does." Max said.
"Why don't we atleast give it a trial run? 'Hey, Eddie. Uh, good news first this time. We got you some Dustin-approved and that six-pack you requested. Oh yeah, and we found Vecna. Only the bad news is he is in the other, darker, much scarier dimension, that we told you about and the gate's closed, so we have no way of getting to him. He's entirely shut off to us, so basically screwed. And, no, I know you were already screwed, but now you're, like, doubly, triply screwed.' " Robin said.
"Maybe, we don't put it like that." I told Robin.
" 'We're one step closer to Finding Vecna.' That's what we say. That's what's important." Nancy said.
"See, Robin? Positive spin can make all the difference." Steve told Robin, while eating pringles.
"Uh-huh." Robin replied.
"Oh, shit." Nancy mumbled.
We look at where she's looking, and we see the house where Eddie was hiding is surrounded by police cars, ambulance, and peoples.
Nancy stops the car.
We all get out of the car and hide behind a van.
We see Chief Powell talking to the reporters.
"...reporting a homicide out here on the lake." Chief Powell said.
"Officer Callahan here and myself arrived first on the scene. We made out way to the shore of Lover's Lake, about ten yards from that house you see behind me." Chief Powell said.
"It was there that we found the victim, an 18-year-old senior from Hawkins High, Patrick Mckinney." The chief said.
We all look at Lucas for a moment.
"His limbs... his body, it was disfigured." The chief said.
"We have also indentified a person of interest." Chief Powell said as he shows a picture of Eddie.
"Eddie Munson." He said.
"We encourage anyone with information to please come forward." The chief said.
"Oh, man. This is not good. Really not good." Steve mumbles.
"You've got alot of questions, and I'm going to answer them as many as I can. Two o'clock at town hall, where anyone from the Hawkins community is welcome. But right now, I've got some work to do, and I appreciate your understanding." The chief said.
Then suddenly Dustin's radio starts to talk.
"Dustin, can you hear me? Wheeler?" It was Eddie.
We turn to Dustin, and walk away from the crowd a bit.
