DREW HAYDENS POV
___________________________

Drew felt sweat running his forehead. This match was incredibly important to him, and he'd put his all into winning it. Though he had picked up the tension on the field, he was much more focused on scoring.

With a quick look on the bleachers, Drew could identify that there was sitting a brunette girl — she looked familiar, however, he couldn't figure who the girl was. Why was she sitting there? He'd been training on this field for as long as he could remember, and that girl had never sat on the bleachers ever before.

Shoving the thoughts of the girl out of his mind, his senses were once again sharp and his focus was back on the match. His gaze ran across the clearing, keeping his sight on the ball. Except, his eyes widened when his team mate missed the ball — causing for it to fly towards the cheerleading team.

Drew wasn't able to act before a loud scream rung throughout the field. 'Brianna, watch out!'

With surprise Drew watched the brown haired girl jump in front of the cheerleader, causing for the volleyball to hit her right in the chest. The brunette got smacked at the ground due to the impact, and Drew could barely believe the risk the girl had taken.

The red haired cheerleader, that was now standing before the girl, was probably more surprised than everyone else was. She immediately towered above the girl. 'May! A-Are you okay?!' the cheerleader panicked, immediately helping the girl up.

The hurt girl croaked something in response, but he couldn't hear it. He quietly marched over to his other teammate. 'Noah,' Drew huffed, 'What the hell happened?' He asked, slightly tilting his head. His brown haired teammate gave him a shrug. 'Elijah missed the ball and it flew straight into that cheerleader. But that girl who protected her..'

Drew's gaze shift over to the girl who was still in pain. His eyelids dropped slightly — it was the girl he had led into the wrong class, wasn't it? He recognized her now.

how interesting.

THE NEXT DAY...

MAY MAPLES POV
____________________________

Yesterday was the day the incident on the sport field occurred. The match had come to a stop after it all got ruined; May's legs were pretty much bruised after that brutal smack to the ground. But due to the help of both parties she had managed to get back on her feet.

And now she was on her way to school. Brianna had payed her quite some concerned calls asking how she was doing. May happily told her that she was doing better, although she did have to be careful. With her hand underneath her chin she curiously watched the landscapes flashing by.

Once she arrived at the nearest stop she hopped off of the train and took her usual walk towards the school, expecting a meet up with Dawn. And like she had expected Dawn was standing there, waiting for her. When the bluenette noticed May she excitedly waved her way. 'May!' She yelled, signing for her to come closer.

May gave in and ran her way. Her knees slightly hurt, but she could deal with it. Panting, she came to a halt before her friend. 'I heard you got hurt yesterday.. are you okay?' Dawn asked, her eyes full of worry as she looked down at May panting and regaining breath. 'You.. did?' She panted. '..And, ..yes, I'm fine.'

Dawns frown cracked into a smile. 'Ah, I'm glad to hear you're doing OK!' She beamed. 'Anyway, May, we've got to hurry! We need to make sure we're not late,' Dawn exclaimed, grabbing May by the arm and tugged her along across the schools outside area.

Once they were in, Dawn signaled her to stop. 'May? Check your locker,' Dawn suggested, still glaring into her own locker. May confusedly gave her a glare but then nodded, eventually opening her locker. Her eyes slightly widened when a paper was in her locker. Who... put that there? 'That's the schools weekly papers.' Dawn informed her, who was expecting her confusion.

May cocked her eyebrow. 'Alright,' she simply answered, pulling the papers out of her locker and simply opening the thing. Except she felt nervousness rise in her stomach when she noticed the front cover. 'New student protects cheerleader during RoseRunners VS NightDreamers volleyball match?' She murmured out, confused.

'No way! May, you're on the front page! I knew the fact that you getting hurt had gotten around the school, but I had no idea you'd get on the front page of the schools weekly papers! Aah, that's awesome!' Dawn cheered.

awesome? May thought. Now everyone knew that she existed! May honestly wanted for herself to blend in, keep a low profile, not stick out. And now she would stick out.. most definitely! She bit her lip anxiously and Dawn noticed this gesture. 'Don't worry, May. Before you know it everyone will have forgotten. After all, not everyone enjoys checking the papers. A lot of students just throw these away.'

May sweat dropped, taking one last look at the papers. 'What matters is that you're fine now, and so is Brianna. Isn't that why you acted in the first place?' Dawn asked — May gave her a halfhearted nod. 'Just keep that in mind! You protected your friend!'  May chuckled lightly. 'I guess.. I guess you've got a point there. I'll be heading over to class, then—'

'Excuse me. Are you miss maple?'

May turned around by hearing her name. She expected to be met by some student, but instead she found herself looking into the eyes of a well mannered man. May closed her locker before answering. 'Yes, I'm May.. May Maple. Can I do anything to help you?' May mumbled. Dawn, who was standing next to her, slowly shuffled away.

'Yes. I'd like to speak to you in my office,' The man noted. May assumed that it was a teacher, although she hadn't seen the guy ever before. She gave an unsure nod, as the man eventually walked away whilst signing for her to follow him. 'I don't like to be impolite at all, but.. who're you exactly?'

'Oh. I'm so sorry, I forgot to introduce myself.. I'm Mr. Garrison, this schools principal. Also, no sweat, you're not in trouble. There is something else important I've got to talk to you about.' The man answered, giving May a kind, reassuring smile. May immediately felt calmed as she nodded. 'Ah, OK!'

The two were then standing in front of the office — The man opened the door, and the two trotted in. The place was nicely decorated, surely a place that was fine to work at. Mr Garrison signed where she could sit down.

'So.. the important matter I'd like to discuss with you is.. you're switching classes.'

'Huh?'

_______________________________

May walked through the halls; she was confused, devastated, but relieved at the same time. She had to switch classes, and she could barely even comprehend why she had to.

Now, apparently, she had to head to Miss. Newlands class in 2.07. Hang on, hadn't she been there before? Scratching her head, she shook the thoughts off of her. How was she going to tell Brianna this? Did she know at all? What was her new class like? Questions filled her mind.

With her bag hanging over her shoulders she headed into the classroom. While first entering she noticed the older woman she had seen before. She looked her way and kindly smiled. 'Ah, May Maple, you're here!' The woman beamed, giving her a nod. May dryly smiled, and stood next to her. 'All right, everyone! You guys will have a new classmate. Why not introduce yourself to the class?'

'Sure—' May nodded and turned towards the class — but her heart dropped when she saw the very person sitting in the back.

him.
