Chapter 38 Settling In

                                    

                                          


They were settling into their new life. She with Se-ri's Choice and he with his score for the movie. He was in constant contact with the movie people about what he had written so far and asking what they were looking for. They were pleased with what he had written. He would have to return to conduct the orchestra and score the music, which had to be timed perfectly to the scenes. Se-ri would hear what he had written and every time she heard the music it never it never failed to amaze her, he was talented. She was happy that he had found his calling. She was busy with the US market and was getting ready to start exporting. She chose a company with stores across the country in many cities. It carried the familiar brands, new and upcoming brands and catered to younger people. She thought it was a good fit. There was a store close to where she lived in California and was impressed. Most of the employees were young, were knowledgeable about the products and very helpful. She would go there to check out the competition. 
She still cooked, not as much as Jeong hyeok, he still did not quite trust her in the kitchen. Every evening she went home, he had dinner cooked and table set. 
She kept up to date with what was going on with her family and Lisa in California. She missed them and thought it would be nice to see them.
"Jeong hyeok, I am home. Where are you?"
"In the kitchen, I am on the phone with David.
"She just came home, I will hand her the phone."
She took the phone, "Hello."
"Se-ri, it is David. How are you?"
"David, I am fine. How are you and where are you?"
"I am fine, I am here, I will be here for a week."
"How is everyone? I miss them. Come here for dinner tomorrow. Is there anything special you would like?"
"Jeong hyeok is a good cook, I would like Korean food."  
"See you tomorrow, David"
"Jeong hyeok, David wants you to cook Korean food."
"Did he ask for anything specific?"
"No, just Korean food. He must miss home cooking. We have to start thinking about a wedding date, we have to give the family time so they can request time off work. Do you have a special time of the year to get married?" She asked.
"No, I just want to marry you this year. We can do a November wedding, close to Thanksgiving and we will all be together for that too."
"Jeong hyeok, you are brilliant, I loved spending Thanksgiving with them. And then we can go on our honeymoon. We will tell David, all we need to do is pick a date. Is dinner almost ready?"
"Yes, can you set the table."
She loved the domesticity of their lives. If she told her younger self this is what life would be like, her younger self would not believe her. 
She was looking forward to seeing David and hearing how the family was doing. They were ready for him when he arrived. Se-ri opened the door.
"David, welcome, come in. Jeong hyeok is in the kitchen."
"Jeong hyeok, it smells delicious. You went all out."
"How's the family?" Se-ri asked
"Fine, they want to know when you are getting married. They want to come for the wedding."
"We picked a great day, the Saturday before Thanksgiving, so we will be all together for the wedding and the holiday. I hope they can all come."
"They will come. Jeong hyeok how is the project coming along?"
"Good. I am enjoying the work, it is different writing a score for a movie, a lot of collaboration with the director and producer. It should be finished before November."
"Se-ri, Rachael and Sara bought Se-ris Choice skin care at their favourite store, they love your products. They are so proud of you. Jeong hyeok, they are also proud of your accomplishments. They can't wait for the movie to be released so they can watch the movie. Dad says the director is very impressed with your talent."
"It is because of your father, he gave me the opportunity. I am pleased that I lived up to his expectations."
"David, can you stop by before you leave? I have some things for the family I think they would like, including the men. We came out with a men's line and it is doing well."
He left Korea with enough Se-ris Choice products to open a small store. She gave him a detailed list of who got what product.
