"If you guys make us late, so help me, I will sell you. Do you have any idea how hard getting these tickets was? The answer is hard, like bloody hard," I grumble, literally pulling Teddy down the street with one hand while the other guides Cora down the path, her being too busy reapplying her lip gloss for the billionth time to be looking where she is going. The only person who is not actively trying to get killed by me is Mick, who, in all honesty, is just as excited as I am to be here; he is a proud Swiftie, after all.
I know Cora loves Taylor Swift, so I am letting her come with us, but she might just be too young to appreciate how amazing Taylor is. Because if she knew, she would not be stressing me out by making us borderline late. It was bad enough I had to wait for her to go through about seven outfits, which I have yet to learn how the little pain in the arse managed to pack in her suitcase. Now she is just purposefully walking as slowly as possible. Honestly, she is the walking definition of a diva, and I am not here for that today.
"Firefly, I will kill you if you don't put that bloody lippy away. You are six; why are you even putting lip gloss on? Who exactly are you planning to mack on?" I ask her, losing my patience when she nearly walks into the side of a building. In all honestly, I should have let her walk into the building; that would have taught her.
Meanwhile, when I asked Teddy his favourite Taylor Swift song, his answer was Wrecking Ball; to this day, I cannot tell if he is serious. The only reason he is here is that it is normie day, and I couldn't exclude him. Otherwise, I would have left him at home. In all honesty, I did try to leave him home, but Cora insisted he came, and what the princess wants, she gets.
Teddy is currently being a massive whiner baby about his shoes rubbing, which means that at some point today, I am either going to kill him or have Mick swap shoes with him because I refuse to listen to him complain all day. The perk of them being identical twins is that Mick has no real reason to refuse to swap shoes later with Teddy. Why Teddy decided today would be a good day to wear his new docs is beyond me. He really is an idiot.
"Can you guys just listen to Andy for two seconds before she kills us all? Come here, little hawk," Mick finally helps, looking up from his phone for a second as he reaches out to pull Cora from me and picks her up, walking down the street. Leaving me with Teddy, who is still complaining. His feet aren't going to hurt when I cut them off and feed them to him. We have yet to get to the concert; I am not going to listen to him complaining all night.
This is supposed to be fun. I knew I should have just paid more for seats up front and only brought Mick. He is the only one who really appreciates what a musical genius Taylor Swift is. Come on, is it too much to ask just for one evening for everyone to not be annoying for once so that we can enjoy the amazingness that is Taylor Swift?
Apparently so.
Spotting all the people around us, I can't help but pull my beanie down further to hide more of my face, noticing as the boys do the same as they both casually glance around the arena as we wait in line to buy some merch. Is it really a concert if you don't buy anything?
The answer is no; ask my wardrobe, which is quite literally full of tour hoodies, or maybe ask Mick's wardrobe, which is full of tour T-shirts or Teddy's closet, which has quite the collection of hats he has bought at concerts a mixture of beanies and caps taking up a large portion of the space, alongside his plethora of tote bags he has purchased over the years at the concerts we have been to.
The point is there are very few things the three of us agree on, but buying stuff at concerts is one of them.
"Remind me again why we are up in the nose bleeds and queuing for merch when one call from Lanie and we could have had some of the best seats in this place and probably could have swung a visit to meet Taylor Swift herself?" Mick complained as he messed with his hat for the third time in the last ten minutes. Slapping his hand away, I fixed it myself before giving him a firm look. "If you keep playing with it, people are going to notice us because you look suspicious," I warn him, making him sulk slightly, much to Cora's amusement. "It's normie day, Mick," she squealed, now on his shoulders, making him grumble about there was no reason we couldn't use our fame a little on normie day while Teddy laughed, and I just shook my head. No one beats Cora in an argument. Period.
