Kaia's parents were in the city at a nice hotel close to the stadium, Javi was in the spare bedroom, and Mapi was waking up in the same bed as her again.
Life was good for Kaia.
Better because Mapi was able to swing her legs out of bed, stand and walk her way to the bathroom without thinking about her knee. Because it was good, it was strong, and she was cleared yesterday to start on the bench tonight for their game against United.
The few micro tears in her ligaments had completely healed themselves over the last few days, the strength in her joint was back to full, and her motivation to play today made her feel incredible.
"Good morning, lover." Kaia teases as she enters the open bathroom herself, hearing the water and knowing Mapi's doing her morning routine by the sink.
So she joins her side to do the same.
"Bon dia, guapa." Mapi replies with a happy smile, watching Kaia through the mirror as she dots the toothpaste on her toothbrush. "How'd you sleep?"
"Good, better because I could feel you all night." Kaia replies, beginning to brush which means she'll only be a listener to the conversation now.
"I feel the same." Mapi sighs softly. It's slightly scary how they need each other to sleep peacefully, but it's also comforting knowing they are each other's peace. "You look so beautiful."
Kaia stops mid-brush to look at Mapi through the mirror, dryly. "Shut up." She mumbles through the toothpaste.
But the moody side eye with sleepy eyes, the messy bed hair, freckled nose and tanned skin, it only makes Mapi fall more in love if it were possible. This woman was an angel walking, and hers forever. "I'll never stop telling you you're beautiful." She replies. "I'll go make us some breakfast, and see if Javi is up."
"Give me a kiss first." Kaia mumbles, leaning her cheek over since her mouth was occupied.
After breakfast, a day of training and meetings, they were back home to get ready and changed into their prematch outfits.
It was colder today, the temperature dropping enough for jumper or hoodies to be worn by most of them.
And it was perfect, because Mapi reached into her hanging clothes and took out the England Umbro 1998 long sleeve shirt she'd bought the moment she knew they were playing an English team in the group. It was soft, warm, and it looked incredible when she put it on in the mirror with her dark boyfriend jeans and white Gazelles.
"Damn, you might look better than me." Kaia chuckles, looking down at her outfit and then over to her fiancé's. "That shirt looks far too good on you." She says, walking across to lift the England badge proudly sat in the middle of Mapi's chest. "I love you."
Mapi grins. "Are you talking to me or the badge?" She teases.
"Both." Kaia grins back, pecking the Spaniards lips as she drops the badge. "So is this to taunt United or proclaim your commitment to me in front of all the English fans?"
