It took me by surprise, and I shifted in my corner, feeling uncomfortable. I watched his nose flare in anger, and it scared me a bit since I had no idea why he had become so angry.

The car pulled up in front of the hotel, and Gabriel immediately got off and held out his hand to help me out. I scooted over and took his hand, stepping out of the car. I could see his anger through his rigid stance and the ticking of his jaw as he clenched his teeth.

He started walking towards the entrance, still with my hands clasped in his, and I watched him as he led us inside.

As soon as we entered, Mr and Mrs Gilliard saw us and came over to great us. I introduced Gabriel to them, and we shared pleasantries, while Gabriel mainly remained quiet. He kept searching the area as if he were looking for someone.. until his gaze zeroed in on Simon.
