"Maybe if I tell Charlie I'm sick he'll let me stay here?" Bella groaned with her hands over her face.
I rolled my eyes and grabbed my hair ties from my dresser. I gathered all my hair and put my hair in a ponytail. "This might be fun Bells. And even if it isn't at least Charlie is trying to hang out with us."
Bella sat up and played with the end of my cover. "He wants to take us shopping for room supplies, instead of letting us go to school."
"What could be bad about that?" I asked. I knew Bella hated being spent on, but I liked it. I loved giving gifts and I loved receiving gifts.
I checked myself out in the mirror. I only really wore comfortable and masculine clothing. Mainly due to my laziness in even getting dressed in the first place.
However, I wanted to change my style a bit. Hopefully, Charlie would be okay with spending some money on clothes too.
Charlie knocked on my door before just entering. Even though I found the gesture weird it was better than Renee who just walked in without warning.
"I'm ready to go if you guys are?" Charlie glanced at me and then at Bella.
"Yeah, we're ready," Bella told him. I made sure to grab my lipgloss on the way out.
After a little persuasion, Charlie agreed to let me drive. He didn't seem too ecstatic about it, but I figured I was a better driver than most teenagers. We'd surely make it to our destination safe and sound.
"How are you liking school so far?" Charlie mumbled. He gripped the seatbelt very tightly.
"It's fine," Bella said.
Charlie yelped when I took a left turn. "Can you slow down a bit? The town's speed limit is a bit slower than it is in Phoenix."
I rolled my eyes but drove a little slower. "You were right, everyone here is very nice and welcoming. Aside from a few exceptions."
I referred to Edward Cullen. My sister had told me all about his weird behavior, and how he disappeared for a while afterward.
"Good, I'm glad." Charlie relaxed a little more. "Turn left in three-quarters of a mile."
"Okay..." I snorted. I had no idea what that meant.
Charlie continued to critique my driving the whole way to the mall. His directions caused a lot of confusion and missed turns so it took longer than it should have to get to the mall.
I darted straight to a clothing store Bella and Charlie followed.
"Don't you think it's too cold for that, Blythe?" Charlie looked at the crop top I grabbed off of the rack.
"I can withstand the cold." I shrugged and put it in the basket.

The blonde girl paced back and forth, clearly upset. She grabbed the clothes off of her floor and angrily placed them in a hamper.
"Rose, everyone can hear you angrily clean. Are you okay?" Her best friend poked his head into the room. He kept his body outside of the room, scared of the girl even though she was smaller than him.
Rosalie turned to him, she didn't know how to explain her dilemma to him. "She didn't talk to me during class yesterday and we won't be in school today. Because of the stupid sun. I hate the sun, Emmett."
Emmett laughed and opened the room door wider. He was afraid that it was something he did. But it was clear the problem was surrounding Rosalie's mate.
"Separation makes the heart grow fonder." He shrugged, taking a seat on her bed. The blonde snarled at him and he flinched. "Why don't you just go see her? I'm sure Alice can tell you a way to sneak on campus without being seen in the sun."
"I won't risk exposing myself," Rosalie said. She felt silly being upset over something so trivial as a human. But this wasn't just any regular human.
"What's so special about her?" Emmett asked. He was curious as to how she felt considering he didn't have a mate.
Rosalie smiled softly as she thought about the girl she was destined to be with. It pained her that she didn't know enough to fill Emmett's ears with facts about the girl.
"I'm not sure. The first time I looked at her... my being just seemed complete." She spoke. "The first time we met I couldn't take my eyes off of her."
Emmett scratched his head. "Didn't Alice trick you into meeting her? Weren't you upset when you came home?"
"I couldn't be mad at the time." Rosalie shrugged. "I held her while I was taking her home and she told me I was firm and comfortable. When she fell asleep she snored a bit, it's a really peaceful sound."
"You hate snoring."
She frowned. "I could never hate anything she does."
Emmett gasped, appalled by the way his best friend was acting. "You've gone soft."
"I have not." She glared.
"You don't want to kill her? Is she your blood singer like Bella is to Edward." Rosalie shook her head.
"No, she smells comforting, like a blue sky." Rosalie played with the ends of her hair and became upset when Emmett erupted with laughter. "Emmett it's not funny."
"It's not funny, it's beautiful." Esme stood at the door frame with a pair of clothes in her arms. "Emmett was supposed to retrieve you, so you could spend time with us downstairs."
"Sorry, I lost focus." He apologized.
"I'm not in the mood." Rosalie grabbed the clothes from Esme and placed them on her dresser.
Esme sighed softly. "Can you try for Carlisle? He's worried about you." Rosalie hadn't spent much time with her
Rosalie followed her mother downstairs where her family was gathered. Edward was making noise on the piano probably playing for Esme. Jasper was sprawled on the couch with Alice on his chest.
She turned to Esme confused. "Where's Carlisle?"
Esme placed her hand on Rosalie's shoulder. "He's finishing paperwork in his office. He'll join us in a little."
"So you lied?" Rosalie asked.
"She didn't lie, Carlisle is worried about you," Edward said. "Everyone is."
"We love and miss you, Rose." Emmett created a heart with his hands.
Rosalie rolled her eyes and sat down on the living room couch. "You guys are annoying."
