As I lift my spear into the air, I spin it in my hand before flipping it over, and aggressively digging it into the dirt beneath me. I breath heavy as I break into a workout building my stamina, and practicing the Dora milaje techniques.
As I start to move, my mind flashes back to the conversation with Queen Shuri.
"I don't understand, Why are you telling me this?" Shuri asks curiously.
"Because, my powers have been warning me, and I was told I must take the heart shaped-herb here."
"You mean the shaman of Talokan?" Shuri asks curiously.
"Yes, I know this is a lot, but the only way I can understand more of my powers is through this plant."
Its silent in the room and Shuri is in deep thought processing everything I just said. I absorb my light source making it disappear in my hand, and she looks up to me.
"For centuries, It has only been made available to the people in my bloodline to take the herb. It would be impossible for an outsider to consume it. No one in history ever has done so. " Shuri says calmly and I continue to listen to her words.
"But its different now, crazy, how a piece of Talokan reinvented and brought back the black panther. Maybe this has been a sign for the new times. You being of Wakandan, and Talokan descent, its kind of like its meant to be. I can sense and feel the sudden change, and with change we must go along with it. Asha, I would love to help you."
I smile softly as I hear her words and sigh. "Queen shuri, you have no idea what this means to me."
"Of course, but Asha, I must warn you. If you cannot consume the herb, it could lead to-"
"Cardiac arrest?" I guess finishing her sentence and she shakes her head. "Or worse."
As my flashback ends, I find myself laying on my back looking up towards the sky. The sun was somehow already starting to set in the mountains, and I keep my eyes closed with those lingering words Shuri said to me.
"Or worse."
I knew what Shuri was saying when she said that. She basically is saying I could die, If I don't consume the herb correctly.
Yet again, the new herbs have a relic of Talokan in them like Shuri said. I sigh and sit up and gaze upon the beautiful sunset sky.
Was this really apart of my destiny?
Is my destiny to die?
or to be rejuvenated?
Tears form in my eyes as I start to think about my life. My life before Talokan was broken, but simple. My baba was never well, and all these years I didn't know up until recently. Mothers death really affected him, and I couldn't help him because I was so confused and caught up on who I was in this world.
I've had a broken life, none of my life has made sense until I meet Namor. He shifted something in me, that caused me to find some truth about who I am. Was this all leading into something better or worse for me? Only time would tell.

The next day
As Okoye approaches me I smile at her lightly. "Let me guess, that smile tells me everything went well with Shuri." She says and I laugh.
