Request - The reader is 6 months pregnant with their 3rd baby together and it's time for the gender reveal with Tate who is from Kacey's previous marriage. They already have a boy named Tucker who is 4 and a girl named Taytum who is 2 but the kids including Tate are upset because the baby is going to be a girl.

You were holding your baby girl, Taytum on your hip while you walked over to Kayce who had wrangled Tucker and Tate where you all needed to be for the reveal. This would be your third gender reveal and last, so you wanted this one to go out with a bang...literally.

Kayce had rigged a small aerosol can out in the pasture to explode either blue or pink when he took a shot at it from where you all would be, along with his and your family.

"Momma, can I do it?" Tucker asked, pulling on your dress.

"No baby," You smiled down at him, smoothing his hair back. "Daddy has to be the one."

You watched Kayce pull the gun out from the holster on his hip and take the safety off. Tate moved to the other side of you, letting you wrap your arm around his shoulders. He would be thirteen next week and you couldn't believe he was almost as tall as you.

"Ready?" Kayce asked, looking back at you.

The crowd around you grew quiet as Kayce took a few steps in front of you and took his aim. You held your breath. While everyone else had their choice, you didn't. All you wanted was a third healthy baby, it didn't matter after that. Taytum wanted a little sister, but that was no surprise to anyone. You also questioned if she really understood what she was wishing for. Tate and Tucker both wanted a little brother...also no surprise there.

Kayce had promised you he didn't care, but after having Taytum you were pretty sure your husband was hoping for another little girl. Taytum had changed his whole world when she had been born. He was so nervous leading up to her birth, so worried he'd mess up since all he knew was the boy-dad life. But that all changed when he held Taytum in the hospital that night. He was wrapped around her finger instantly and you fell even more in love with him.

You scooted Taytum up on your hip, your six-month belly making it only slightly difficult. Kayce held the gun up between both his hands and took aim, breathing out before he pulled the trigger. The shot took off and in an instant the can turned into a pink cloud of dust.

Everyone around you cheered while you laughed at how Taytum jumped but quickly soothed her so she wouldn't cry. Kayce was soon wrapping you in his arms, his lips against yours before he looked into your eyes.

"Another baby girl," He whispered to you. You cupped his cheek, kissing him once more before you turned to look down at your boys.

They didn't look pleased.

"Hey," You called out. "What's wrong?"

"It's a sister," Tate sighed.

"Isn't that exciting?" You asked.

"We wanted a brother," Tucker kicked at the dirt.

"Hey!" Snapepd Kayce. "Doesn't matter what we were gonna get."

"But it'll be just like Taytum," Tate looked at his little sister on your hip who looked confused.

"What's wrong with Taytum?" You tilted your head to the side.

"She's too girly," Tucker whined. Taytum started to get fussy in your arms. She might not be able to know exactly what her brothers were talking about but she could tell they were frustrated and it had something to do with her too.

"That's enough," Kayce walked over and grabbed both of their shoulders. "Come with me."

"Kace," You took a step after them.

"We'll be back," He said over his shoulder at you.

You turned around and smiled at the rest of the crowd, continuing on with the celebrations.

Later that night

You finally sank back into your side of the bed, the mound of pillows helping you sit up some but also alleviating the extra pounds around your stomach now. You turned to the left slightly and sighed. All three kids had gone to bed by now, after a fussy bedtime once the party guests had disappeared. You weren't sure what Kayce had said to the boys but they did apologize to you quickly before Kayce swatted them up to their bedrooms.

"You okay?" Kayce asked, walking into the bedroom from getting Taytum down.

"I will be in three months," You sighed, smiling over at him. "This one makes me feel like a cow."

"You ain't a cow," Kayce rolled his eyes, climbing in next to you. He wrapped an arm under your belly and rested his head against your stomach. "Don't listen to Momma...you're gonna be the most loved girl in the whole damn state."

"Don't curse around our daughter!" You giggled, pulling at Kayce's hair. "At least give her a chance to not have 'fuck' be her third word she learned to like it was for Taytum."

"That was not me!" Kayce argued.

"She's one hundred percent all you," You smiled. "She's her daddy's girl through and through."

"I had to get one," Kayce rubbed your stomach. "Tucker thinks you walk on water and Tate would walk across hot coals for you."

"They both this you hung the moon,' You softly said. "They all do."

Kayce looked up at you. "I think we've done okay with this lot."

"We have," You nodded. "I guess we outta keep them?"

"Ain't no one would want them," Kayce chuckled, leaning up and kissing your lips.

You both got settled into the bed, facing each other. It was the only way you were comfortable now. Kayce reached out and stroked your cheek.

"What did you say to the boys to make them apologize for earlier?" You asked.

"That not liking their new little sister was basically not liking you," Kayce whispered. "She's part of you, you two are one right now, and that they needed to act like the older brothers they were going to be."

"You're sweet sometimes," You smiled at Kayce. "What did you threaten them with though?"

"What makes you think I threatened them?" He asked you.

"Because I know you..." You giggled.

"I may have said if they didn't apologize I'd string them up by their ears," Kayce mumbled.

"I'd have torn your arms off," You laughed, moving to kiss his palm. "But thank you."

"Thank you for giving me another precious gift," Kayce smiled at you.

"We love you," You whispered to him.
