Third Person

Big sighed and clucked his teeth, the sound of resignation mixing with determination. He had flown all morning from New York to Georgia, and he wasn't going to leave without getting what he came here for.

As Heaven backed her car out of the apartment complex parking lot, Big watched her go, feeling a mix of regret and understanding. She would never forgive him, of that he was sure. But could she really blame him? He knew if it had been anyone else in his place, they would have done much worse. And if she was anyone else, he would have done more than what he did.

He had almost made it to his car when he spotted Chris' Toyota Corolla parked in the driveway. He spun around and raced back up the front steps, driven by a sudden surge of hope that this was what he needed to do.

Turning on his heels, he made his way towards the stairs of her apartment building and, jogged up them. As he reached her front door, he was debating whether or not he should make this move but at the same time, he had one chance to get this right. He meant it when he said that he loved her and wanted to be with her.

He knocked and banged at the door, annoyed because he once had a key to her place but when she cut him off a month ago, she'd taken it from him.

"I should've made a copy of that damn key." He mutters under his breath.

The door swung open and Chris rolls his eyes. "She's not here. And even if she was, I wouldn't tell you." Big snickered leaning against the doorway, he rubbed the skin between his thumb and index finger, letting out a slow and mischievous laugh. "Is that right?" Chris nods his head. "Yes. That's right. You know you should be in jail for what you did to her. I should've had you locked up." Big chuckled deeply. "What's so funny?"

"You're funny." Big stood up straight, leaning off the door railing. "You're funny because you don't have a damn clue who you're talking to."

Chris rolled his eyes about to close the door in Big's face. Big stopped the door before slamming it back causing it to knock the wind out of Chris and Shana to scream. Big stepped over Chris as he was laid out on the floor bleeding from the nose, stepping into the house, Big shut the door behind him. "Now which one of you want to tell me who Heaven is on a date with and where she at?"

"You're fucking crazy!" Shana shouted running over to grab her phone to dial 9-1-1.

Big chuckled. "I wouldn't think about that if I were you." He warns. "This can all go so damn peaceful, I didn't come here for all of this.. see, you right about that. I am in fact crazy, very crazy. And you know what drives me even crazier? Heaven." He nodded his head, hearing himself say that out loud actually bothered him. Scared him even. He'd never felt this way about any woman and it grieved his soul yet, he didn't care. She was his. "We don't know where she's at! Or whose she's on a date with." Chris lies, pushing himself back onto the wall, taking his shirt off to cover his broken nose that was pouring out blood like he was a blood bank.
