Jade Leywin POV
"HE'S 8 MONTHS OLD REYNOLDS, HE CAN'T POSSIBLY BE A MAGE ALREADY! IF YOU'RE GOING TO LIE AT LEAST THINK ABOUT SOMETHING BELIEVABLE TO EXPLAIN THE STATE OF OUR BACKYARD"
It appears I woke up in the middle of a quarrel between our parents, well I guess mom discovered the massive crater in the backyard and is obviously blaming dad for it since the two of us were the only ones at home and no sane person would possibly blame an infant for a crater in the ground.
"I'm not lying, I'm serious Jade awakened this morning and the implosion he generated with his awakening created the crater in the backyard, just try and feel his mana core you'll see it" I hear dad as he's trying to defend himself
"Oh my god, it's true I can sense his mana core from here, but eben if he awakened he can't possibly have created THAT crater, it's at least 20 meters in diameter, even a talented mage generates just enough force to wreck a room"
"This just tells us how much talent he has as a mage we should start searching for a tutor, I have an old friend in Xyrus city who would be able to find someone suitable"
This is bad, no it's actually catastrophic, we can't go to Xyrus now it's too early if we go now then there will be no one to save Tessia when se gets kidnapped, if no one saves her she will end up as a slave and if she becomes a slave her parents will declare war on Sapin the moment they find out which means by the time Agrona makes his move Dicathen will be in the middle of an internal war between elf and humans, we'll be annihilated if there's an alacryan attack.
"Rey you can't be serious he's not even one, he doesn't understand what we tell him yet and he hasn't learned how to speak either, how is a teacher supposed to teach him?" I hear mom say in a slightly exasperated tone.
"Oh, yeah I guess you're right. Well we'll have to wait until he's old enough before finding him a tutor, since he's a conjurer I can't teach him anything"
Fiuuu, we really dodged a bullet here, damn I almost doomed Dicathen without even trying (or meaning to), I guess this is the so called butterfly effect? Although I'm not from the future I still have knowledge about future events since I read the novel up to volume 10 so I should be really careful about what I do from now on.
It's imperative that we depart for Xyrus a couple of weeks before mine and Art's fourth birthday since in the novel he turns 4 in the middle of the journey and the bandits attack a little later.
I guess until we get to Xyrus I'll have to keep my training secret in order to not draw more attention from my parents, so what should I try to learn?
...
Mana rotation definitely mana rotation, that technique is tremendously useful, being able to replenish my core even while fighting will basically be like having a much bigger mana pool than regular mages and I won't have to worry about finding a safe place to meditate since I will be able to replenish my core on the move.
| 2 months later|
After 2 months of training I finally managed to learn mana rotation, and not only it took me less time than Art to learn this but I'm also better at using it, Art could only recover 20% of what he recovered with actual meditation, I on the other hand have no need to meditate anymore as mana rotation allows me to recover the same amount of mana.
Also during my training to learn mana rotation I managed to unlock all 4 elements, well I guess being a conjurer I have an easier time drawing in ambient mana so it made unlocking my elements easier.
Lastly since fully mastering mana rotation I found out my core is basically refining on his own, I guess this is due to me being able to absorb mana much more efficiently that Art did since he said in the novel that he couldn't use mana rotation to purify his core.
Thanks to this I was at the dark red stage instead of the black stage despite the fact that I never tried to purify my core as I didn't want to draw attention, luckily neither of my parents tried to check on my core, I guess since they never taught me how to purify it they just assume I'll remain in the black stage until they can teach me.
Art also started the process of forming his mana core, after overhearing our parents talk about my mana core he probably understood that this system is very similar to the one in his old world, and I could tell he was making progress, knowing that I already awakened must be a good motivation for him to work even harder that he did in the novel.
Now that I learned mana rotation I was thinking about trying to learn mirage walk or at least the premise of mirage walk, the ability to completely erase my mana signature and mana usage will be really useful not only in a fight but also so I can train without having to worry about mom or dad perceiving my mana fluctuations.
As I tried to balance my input and output of mana like Art did in the novel I found out I couldn't do that due to the disparity between my mana veins and mana channels, while my mana veins are quite developed at least for the standards of a dark red conjurer, my mana channels are almost non-existent, I need to find a way to reinforce my channels without refining my core.
