Annabelle

I was walking back and forth worried about Archer. After he left me in the living room with Lisa I felt many emotions, but mostly I was concerned about him. I could tell from his expression that something bad happening, so I couldn't help but feel anxious. I went to my room and Lisa went to hers because she wanted to take a shower and now here I am, trying to think of other things but failing miserably.

'Let's go for a run' my wolf said in my mind.
'Star, I can't. Archer told me to wait in my room
'Run helps your mind' she said and I sighed.

I shifted only once, but only thinking about running into the woods puts me in a good mood and calms me down.

'I guess running just for a short while should be fine and I will not get too far.'

While I was thinking that, I left my room and went downstairs to where the exit was. I went out and breathed the fresh air and loved it. I began to walk toward the woods when someone grabbed my arm. I tensed and instantly relaxed when I felt the sparks.

"Where are you going?" He asked me with panic in his eyes.

"I was a little nervous and Star told me a run would help," I said and he suddenly hugged me.

"Annabelle, if you ever need to run please tell me. Right now it's not safe enough for you to go alone and I can't lose you." He said and I apologized looking down at my feet. "Angel, you don't have to apologize, it's normal to feel this need whenever you're anxious, angry, or happy." He said as he rubbed my back to make me feel better.

We went to my room and he put me on his lap. It felt so good to have him so close. He explained what had happened and why he had asked me to wait there. He didn't want to tell Roman about the rogue in front of us because of what happened to his mate; I understood his reasons and respected his choice. I loved him even more for that and felt so bad for Roman. This situation had become difficult to handle, but something sounded weird.

"What are you thinking about, angel?" Archer asked, touching my chin.

"Nothing much, it's just really strange. Was there a mole back then too?" I furrowed my eyebrows at him.

"Yes, Roman killed him on the spot when he find him out." He replied. "Why?"

"It's just that I have a feeling that there was another mole beside the one who was killed, and I think it's the same one you are looking for right now," I told him, but I immediately felt ridiculous. "It's just a silly thought."

"No, my Annabelle, you are not ridiculous and I had the same thought. I already asked Jack to look into the folders and see who we had in the pack before Amelia's death and check them out, even more, if he or she was connected to the one that Roman killed." He said rubbing my back and looking at me proudly. "What were you and the others laughing about? " He asked suddenly.

I immediately looked away and I felt my cheeks burn as I remembered what we had been talking about. We had asked Eric different kinds of questions about Archer and Jack, and everything was fine until he asked me when we were going to do Luna's ceremony.

FLASHBACK

"So when are you and the alpha planning to do Luna's ceremony?"
Eric asked and I was confused because I didn't know what he was talking about.

"What is that?" Lisa and I asked at the same time and he chuckled.

"I guess he didn't use those words, but maybe they told you about marking and mating." He replied confidently.

I looked and Lisa, but she didn't know any more than I did.

"Marking and mating? " I raised an eyebrow.

"Okay, I think they'd better talk to you about it or they will probably kill me," Eric said raising his hands in surrender.

There is no way I was going to leave without answers.

"Spit it out!" I said sternly.

"Marking your mate means biting a specific spot on the neck to show the other males or females that the person belongs only to him or her, but not only that, you start to connect to your other half, and to complete that connection you have to mate. I don't think I need to explain what mating is." Suddenly a voice behind our back said making us snap our heads toward him. Roman was standing there looking at us with a smile on his lips, and I blushed a little as I heard his words.

FLASHBACK OVER

I can't believe Archer didn't tell me about the marking. Roman also said that it was harder for an alpha or beta to not mark their mates because they are really possessive, so that's why Eric was surprised the alpha hadn't arranged the Luna ceremony yet.

"We asked what he can tell us about you and Jack," I responded, "He asked me when are you going to mark me, so when do you plan to do it? " I asked him mostly because somehow I felt rejected again. He hasn't decided on the date when he will do Luna's ceremony, so I keep wondering if it's because he isn't sure about us.

He become more tense and I could tell he was annoyed, so I wanted to get up from his lap, but he grabbed my waist firmly. I lowered my gaze and whimpered. He sighed in frustration.

"Don't leave when I still need to talk to you." He said and with one finger lifted my chin." I'm sorry I got irritated, but it wasn't because of you but because it pisses me off that everyone feels like they have the right to tell you things I should talk to you about."

"Then explain these things before them, and in a way I wanted them to tell me, so don't get mad at any of them because it is my fault too."

"I'm sorry, you're right." He ran his fingers through his hair and sighed again. I felt frustrated, too, because I didn't understand why it was so hard for him to explain.
