Biana's POV
I really hoped Tam would keep his promise and come to Foxfire today.
I wanted to see him. I waited at orientation, fiddling with the hem of my tunic and biting my lower lip. Then he appeared. Looking as sleepless and handsome as ever, in his green Level Six Foxfire uniform.
He spotted me almost immediately. It was cute.
He actually smiled as he walked over to where I was standing with the rest of my friends.
"Hey."
He pulled me into a hug and kissed the top of my head. A chorus of gasps rang out from my friends and several people around us. He smiled sheepishly as he pulled away. I couldn't miss the disappointed looks on some of the girls around me.
Sophie was standing with a huge smile on her face, her mouth open in shock.
Dex was bright red, his dimples prominent in his smile.
And Fitz...
He looked a cross between angry and protective. He narrowed his eyes and stomped up to Tam. They were the exact same height, so Fitz stood up extra tall.
"If you date my sister, you better promise not to break her heart."
He shot a quick glance at Sophie. Ohhh, the angst. 
"I won't. I don't know why anyone would."
Fitz seemed to decide that was a good answer. He stuck out his hand. Tam took it, and they shook on it. Then Tam backed away and took my hand. Dex was looking between me and Tam, his eyes moving so fast it was like he was watching a game of tennis, a human game Sophie had told me about. Dex nodded and shot a glance at Sophie, which she probably understood.
It's a best friend thing. 
Before I knew it, orientation was over, and I started the day holding Tam's hand.
It was a good day.
