{Part Two: Blackened Sun} Chapter Twenty-Three: Masked by Earth II

                                    

                                          
At the end of the moon, You awaken from your slumber and rise to your feet with a determined gleam in your eyes. You know what today is, and You have been waiting ages for the time to finally come.
Seraphine: This is it at last... The day the war ends.
You say the rest of the Ashen Wolves should already be waiting for You at the front of the monastery.
Seraphine: I imagine they're just as eager to leave as we are... I never would have thought we would reach this day when we first woke up, and I'm confident they all feel the same way. I can hardly blame them for being excited.
You nod as You get ready for the battle to come.
Seraphine: We won't be able to return to the monastery until after this final battle has been taken care of... You know that, don't you?
You nod once again, but You say that this is for the best. In fact, there is no better outcome You could think of.
Seraphine: I guess you're right. We're finally in a position where we can do this, and I... I'm sure that's for the best.
You go to leave your room and head to the front of the monastery, but along the way You are stopped when You see Janae standing just outside.
Janae: Good... You haven't left yet. There's something I want to give you before you go.
You ask what she is referring to.
Janae: It's... This.
Janae pulls a ring off her finger and presses it into your hand. Your eyes go wide in surprise.
Janae: I've had this ring for a great many years... A long time ago, I believed I would be able to share it with the person I loved most, but times changed once I was brought into the palace of Adrestia. I've continued to wear it ever since then, but... I think you should have it.
You question her about what makes her want to give it to You now.
Janae: You've been through a lot to reach this point, and I know you have a great future ahead of you... I want you to be able to share it with the person you love most regardless of who that is. 
You thank her for her kindness and say that You will treasure this no matter what.
Janae: I'm glad to hear it... I'll be waiting for you when you get back. I know a lot has happened these last few years, but... I want this to stay the same no matter what. It took us a long time to get back to each other, and I'll be looking forward to seeing you again. 
You nod with a smile on your face, and You promise to be back as soon as possible.
Janae: I'm counting on it.
You wave to Janae one final time, and she returns the gesture with a smile of her own. You think about who You would like to spend your life with after the war ends, and this is where You make the decision as to who your S-Support will be. From there, You start off in the direction of the monastery's entrance. Sure enough, the Ashen Wolves are there when You arrive, and You greet them once they are within earshot.
Eli: At long last, all of us are here... I suppose that means it's time for us to go.
Grey: Don't tell me you're getting cold feet now, Eli. You know what we have to do.
Eli: I'm not getting cold feet, I can assure you. I just... I was afraid we would never reach this point.
Ernst: You wouldn't be the only one to have feared that.
