"In a time of deceit telling the truth is a revolutionary act."
- George Orwell

Narnia, 1000

The walk towards the residence of the faun was quite thrilling. Once again, Olivia saw the lamppost and more snow and branches. A little repetitive but dazzling nonetheless. Peter had even fallen on the snow, and Susan too!

They had stopped once, and Lucy, Peter, and Olivia made a snowman while Susan searched for little rocks they could use as the eyes of the snowman, and Edmund just sat down, that same grumpy look on his face.

Lucy was talking about everything inside the faun's house. " ... lots and lots of lovely food, and we'll have lots and lots of... "A horrifying scene cut off her sentence.

The door of the house looked as if one had broken it down. Lucy gasped and started running inside the house, and the other four called out her name and rushed in after her.

Inside the house was even worse than one could think. The place was torn, with broken furniture, and thrown sideways. The faun's books and portraits were scattered on the floor, with a few pages ripped and broken glass.

" Careful with the broken glass. " Olivia warned them, looking at the ground for where she could place her feet.

" Who would do something like this? " Lucy asked out loud. The sight seemed to terrify her, and Olivia had portrayed the youngest as a brave person from their brief moments. It was sad to see Lucy like this.

While searching around, Edmund stepped on a portrait of another faun, but he seemed a tad older than Lucy had described. Peter headed to the middle of the living room, where a wooden pillar stood, holding the one thing that still seemed intact in that mess: an old-looking piece of paper.

" The faun Tumnus is hereby charged with high treason against Her Imperial Majesty, Jadis, Queen of Narnia, for comforting her enemies and fraternising with humans: signed Maugrim, captain of the secret police. Long live the Queen. " Peter read the paper aloud, and his face seemed to fall with each word that came out of his mouth.

" All right. Now we really should go back. " Susan signed, grabbing the paper in her hands gently.

" But what about Mr Tumnus? "

" If he was arrested just for being with a human, I don't think there's much we can do. " Susan replied.

" You don't understand, do you? I'm the human. She must have found out he helped me." Lucy cried.

Olivia glared at Edmund, but the others didn't seem to notice. The boy averted Olivia's feisty gaze.

" Maybe we could call the police. " Peter said.

" These are the police. " Olivia and Susan replied at the same time.

" Don't worry, Lu. We'll think of something. " Peter told his sister, crouching as he talked to her.
