I looked at him with disdain as he bragged to one of the transfer students about his wealth and achievements. I decided to ignore him and not let him dampen my day as I strolled to English class. Where I will be seeing my angel again.
Miss Daniels opened the door and looked down on me as she stepped aside for me to enter. Snickers were heard from the class as everyone and anyone has probably heard about my encounter with Melissa.
Minutes into the lesson, as I anticipated...well, more like hopelessly prayed. A paper flew over my shoulder. I impatiently waited for Miss Daniels to turn her back. As soon as she did, I unfolded the paper, hoping to see what my angel has written to me.

This wasn't Ava's handwriting. I turned to my back where snotty Smith was winking at me.
Okay, Eww.
That girl's nose has been leaking since the first day I saw her which was freshman year. I know I've been humiliated this week a lot but this,...this was downright insulting.
"Kayden, when you're done ogling Smith!!" Miss Daniels yelled in front of me. "Feel free to concentrate on the lesson."
I hadn't realized that I was staring at Smith. The class burst into laughter at the teachers words. Call me a hopeless romantic but only one person's laughter stood out to me. I turned to my back again where I saw Smith blushing seriously while Ava gave her a nod.
Was this Ava's doing?
The bell rang and another note landed on my lap. I opened it once again, probably expecting a note from hobo Joan.
😉😉😉
-AvaSo this was her plan. Well two can play that game. I picked my books and rushed out of the class with determination on my face. I was going to win Ava Turner.
After waiting through all the classes in pain, the bell finally rang for the extra curricular activities. I had soccer but I'm willing to risk it for Ava. Which was why I was now strolling to the the ice skating rink.
I took a seat with the others who decided to skip their extra curriculars. Suddenly the lights went off and a spot came on as we watched the girls and guys perform their routine. They made lots of mistakes which were very funny. Okay, I know I sound like a douche but think about it. Teenagers falling on their butts after slipping on ice? Hilarious.
Ava finally came out and did a separate routine. She made some mistakes that gifted her with scoldings from her french instructor. What amazed me was her determination to get every move right. She loved ice skating and anyone could see that in every move she did. It was... beautiful.
"Drrriiinnng!!!" The bell rang, breaking me out of my trance. Has it already been 50mins? Guess time really does fly when you're having fun.
The lights came up again and I watch boys run into the rink to steal the attention of the girls... especially Ava. I sit tight on my seat as I watch the interaction. I may not be a heart throb king but I know that you don't talk to a girl when she's feeling sweaty and tired. That just stirs up anger and pent up frustration. Well, it does for my mom and Sam.
"I said No!!" I heard Daisy scream at one of the guys swarming around her. The funny thing here is that Daisy never raises her voice. I wonder what Ava's going through. I chuckled at the thought as I watch Ava wave off a guy in dismissal.
Few minutes after the boys left, the skaters came out of the changing room as they prepared to leave. I know Ava will do a check around the school before leaving so I just sit and wait for her. I probably look like a creep now as I've been sitting on the same spot for more than an hour. One of the skaters even came to poke my cheek to check if I was alive.
"What are you doing?" I wonder as I stared him down.
He simply shrugged as he went back to his group. "It still lives." I heard the fool whisper, making me roll my eyes.
Minutes later, my princess came out, wearing her school uniform. She stole a quick glance at me and I swore I saw a tint of red appear on her cheek.
The ice might be getting to me.
"You've been sitting there for while now." She asked as she stalked to me. "Are you lost, stranger?" She asked, making me chuckle softly as I stood up.
"I think I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be." I said as I walked closer to her, with a smirk on my face.
"Really?" She asked, "and where's that exactly?"
I smiled as I leaned my face close to hers. I heard her breath hitch in her throat as she locked eyes with me.
"With you."
