I would like the reader and Kayce to have had a slight disagreement about something, but they go to the bar with the wranglers and the reader makes Kayce jealousy by flirting with other cowboys and dancing. Obvs I'd like it to end with Kayce throwing her over his shoulder and carrying her off for smut ...
"It wasn't a problem last week," Kayce sighed from where he was leaning against the front porch railing.
"That's because last week you told me it was just Tate," You huffed, slipping your boots on. "I was gonna find out, Kayce. Why not just tell me from the beginning and save yourself?"
The wranglers were all piled into two trucks, with Rip and Beth waiting on you and Kayce to hurry up so everyone could go into town for a night off. While you were getting ready earlier Kayce had dropped the ball that Monica would be staying at the ranch with Tate because she was on Spring Break at the University. They arrived in two days.
You didn't necessarily mind Monica anymore, but you always had to prep for her. This gave you hardly any time to do that. Plus all your plans with Tate were just canceled because you knew Monica would not want to do them with you.
"Hey," Kayce grabbed your arm as you tried to walk past him. "I don't wanna fight with you."
"Then don't," You pulled your arm away from him and walked down to the truck waiting, getting in behind Beth.
"Someone looks sour," Beth joked from the front seat looking at Kayce walking to the other side.
"Someone's a dick about his ex-wife coming and not telling me," You snapped and that shut both Beth and Rip up for the rest of the ride into town.
It was a dive bar, any cowboy would be proud to wallow in for a few hours. The band was good tonight and you soon found yourself enjoying the neon lights, music, and cowboys ready for a dance. You had ignored Kayce the whole time, declining the beer he bought you and his one offer to dance.
You started out dancing with Beth for a few songs and then moved on to Lloyd and Ryan, but then some stranger from out of town came up and asked for a dance. He must have been from Texas because he two-stepped you across the floor with ease. You were smiling, spinning under his arm as your boots carried you to the other side of the floor. It was then you noticed Kayce, whose dark eyes weren't leaving your form.
Good, you thought. He needed to see that you didn't need him to have a nice night out. If he wanted to sulk then that was on him. He said he didn't want to fight, but you knew fighting was the only way to work through the topic of Monica.
"That dude your boyfriend or something?" Your dance partner asked, noticing Kayce himself.
"Or something," You smiled, batting your eyelashes and hooking an arm around his neck. "Best to be on your good behavior."
"Oh yeah?" The guy asked, his hand dipping lower on your yellow sundress. "Or what?"
He was suddenly yanked from you, falling to the floor stunned. Kayce was next to you seething, his fists balled and a snarl on his face.
"Kayce!" You snapped, holding his arm back. "Stop."
"Watch your hands," Kayce growled as the guy stood up.
"Hey man, it was just dancing," He held his hands up in surrender.
"Didn't look like it," Kayce took a step towards him.
"She ain't worth it anyway," The guy blew you both off. "Bitch."
"Excuse me?" You yelled, stepping up and trying to grab him but Kayce was faster, flipping you around and hoisting you over one of his shoulders. "Put me down, Dutton!"
