"Coming!" Quinn called in response to the knock on the apartment door.
Quinn opened the door and furrowed her eyebrow at the sight of police officers with Puck.
"Hi there. I'm Officer Reddy." The woman at the door said. "That's Officer Edwards and Officer Donovan."
"Does this belong to you?" Officer Donovan asked as he and Officer Edwards held Puck steady.
"That's my husband." Quinn said. "Is he in trouble?"
"Not with us." Officer Edwards promised. "Can we help you get him inside?"
"Please." Quinn nodded slowly, stepping back to let the police officers inside. "Sorry about the mess. We have a new baby and an eight-year-old."
"That's okay." Officer Reddy said, keeping her eyes on the other police officers as they got Puck to the couch while Quinn picked up a few of the baby's things.
"Miss, is there anyone we can call for you?" Officer Edwards offered. "To come help out with the kids or anything?"
"No, thank you." Quinn shook her head. "My husband's brother is only a few blocks away. He'll be here soon."
"Okay." Officer Edwards said. "Anything else we can do for you before we get out of your way?"
"I can take it from here." Quinn promised. "Thanks for getting Noah home safely. Can I get you anything before you go?"
"No thank you."
"Take care, miss."
"Goodnight." Quinn replied as she let the police officers out. She locked the apartment door and looked at Puck, who was completely out of it on the couch.
Before Quinn could start yelling at him, the sound of the baby's cries came through the monitor. She exhaled slowly before leaving Puck alone in the living room and going to tend to her son.
-
Quinn was up throughout the night to take care of the baby, and each time she got up, she peeked in the living room to make sure Puck hadn't run off again.
In the morning, Quinn woke up early and exited her bedroom. She found Puck eating breakfast in the kitchen, already showered and dressed for the day.
"Morning." Puck muttered. "You hungry?"
"Sure." Quinn nodded as she sat down. "Thanks."
Puck made Quinn a plate and set it down in front of her. "You're up early."
"So are you." Quinn noted. "Are you going somewhere?"
Puck shrugged.
Quinn took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. "We need to talk about last night."
"What about it?" Puck questioned Quinn.
"Are you serious?" Quinn wondered. She continued when Puck didn't say anything. "You're getting out of control, Noah. For god's sake, the police had to bring you home."
Puck didn't say anything.
"You have a record." Quinn reminded Puck. "You're lucky they didn't arrest you. Because they will next time."
"No they won't." Puck said.
"They will." Quinn insisted. "And if you come home like that again, I'll call them myself to get you out of here."
"You would put me in jail?" Puck asked. "You're my wife."
"Married or not, I don't wanna be around you when you're being that destructive." Quinn shook her head. "And I don't want you around the kids."
"Wow." Puck muttered.
"Noah, we've talked about this." Quinn reminded Puck. "You promised me you would get help and get sober after you came to the hospital high when Hudson was born."
Puck bit his lip.
Quinn knew Puck felt guilty about that. He had nearly missed Hudson's birth. On the day Hudson was born, it wasn't until Quinn was in the delivery room pushing that she allowed Puck to be there.
"You promised me." Quinn repeated. "And you disappearing for days and not helping with the kids is not you keeping that promise."
"You don't know what things have been like since I've been home." Puck noted.
"Yes I do." Quinn said. "You drink or get high and then you stumble back home, or sometimes you wander around, and we fight about it, and you promise to change."
Puck furrowed his eyebrow.
"I don't know what you saw or did when you were deployed." Quinn continued. "But you can't keep doing this. It's time for you to get some help."
"And if I say no?" Puck wondered.
"Then you can call Jake and stay at his place until you do." Quinn decided. "Your choice."
"It's not really a choice then, is it?" Puck pointed out.
"We're having this conversation because I love you." Quinn told Puck. "I don't want anything happening to you. I just want us to be happy newlyweds who are both present and good parents, okay? And I don't think that's too much to ask."
"Fine." Puck said as he started to walk away.
"Where are you going?"
"I'm gonna pack a bag for Jake's."
