Before I could even think of taking it back, I had spilled the beans. They immediately stiffened and stopped talking. They shared a look but I still couldn't see their faces... After what felt like ages, they finally turned around. To say I was surprised would be an understatement. They were the most curiously beautiful creatures I had seen in a long time. Each possessing her own unique kind of beauty that seemed to fit well together. They were regal, an air of nobility surrounded them.
They are definitely not common supes, that's for sure.
The taller one was looking at me critically. Analysing my every move. Her eyes were a bright purple for a moment then they turned to a sparkling light green. Woah, cool... how did she do that? They were intense and focused like she was reading something. I found it very personal but not unpleasant. They contrasted well against her creamy alabaster complexion. It stood out against the night, piercing and hypnotizing.
Her long silver hair cascaded in curled waves, tied up in a high ponytail. Her stature was proud and strong there was a certain elegance about her. She looked like a Celtic Diety or maybe a Viking Queen. Three braids on the side of her head and silver loops through the top of her ears. She was alert and ready to move, but there was compassion in those eyes. Something told me she was the one who had been touching me earlier.
What now?
That brought my attention to the slightly shorter woman next to her. She was eyeing me in the same critical manner but biting her nails. Her caramel brown skin glowed softly in the camp fire. Brown chocolate, doe like eyes gave her a childlike cuteness. Her fully braided golden brown hair was up in a bun on her head, with a few strands hanging on the side. She had a small golden loop on her right nostril and one on her right ear. She looked light on her feet, graceful and swift. Her gaze was far more expressive than her friend, the frustrated sigh, didn't go unnoticed. Her demeanour was electric, full of emotion. She reminded me of an Egyptian Goddess or a Nubian Empress.
Well this was certainly a spectacular turn of events. Maybe being dropped into a remote forest and robbed wasn't so bad. I still wasn't sure what race they were though. It would be helpful If I had an idea of what kind of supe I was dealing with. Focusing back on them, I decided to take a whiff of their scent. Each race has a collective smell to us dragons. Unless mated to one of our kind, they all have a singular group scent. Witches smelt like honeysuckle and vampires smelt like iron. Taking in an easy slow breath. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks.
Oh, you're wolves! I felt like a complete idiot for not scenting them properly earlier. I was amused that something so obvious slipped passed me. Wolves have an even more particular scent to dragons, being the other shifter race. They often smelt like moist earth, dew and freshly cut grass. Like the forest after a summer shower. Well that is interesting. I watched them exchange a blank look, before they suddenly began laughing.
Oh...kay?!
Their laughter was completely outrageous. Cackling, giggling, hissing and shrieking. Are they hyenas? Somehow it suited them perfectly. I was so perplexed, not sure how to react. They just kept on dying from whatever joke I had apparently told.
Well this is just nuts, why were they laughing? Aren't they wolves? They smell like wolves? Am I missing something here?
Yho Nagana Lily, I nearly shat my pants. She spoke between giggles. Ah, so the angel's name is Lily. What a fun combination. Lily and Gala.
I know right! It took me a while to process something so... normal.
Normal was funny? It was then they both noticed my confusion and tried to calm themselves down. It was a pitiful attempt at first, but they managed to catch their breath as I waited for normalcy to return. If it could at this point.
