Stormrunner let out a battle cry as she flew after the Autobots. She was ordered, that if any Autobots appear, to kill them. In typical fashion, they did, in order to acquire the Omega Lock.
Megatron was thrown back somewhere by a swipe of Optimus Prime's repaired Star Saber. A part of Stormrunner wanted to go and check to see if he was alright, but she decided not to. It was important that she went after the Autobots to prevent them from activating the lock, as they already got the keys.
Not to mention, she still hated him for killing Dreadwing. But that's beside the point.
A silver jet appeared beside her as they before raced to the lock before the Autobots could reach it. In the distance, she would see a structure extending out of the ground. The lock!
She and her leader landed on the ground, it shaking beneath them. The pair walked calmly towards the enemy, who prepared their weapons.
"Autobots!" Megatron said. "I suggest you put a halt to your task, and hand over those keys."
"Why would we do that," Smokescreen questioned.
As if on cue, the ground bridge behind them opened up, and Starscream, Soundwave, and Knockout each walked out, holding a large glass jar.
Inside each jar, a human stood, hands pressed against the walls. "So that I may hand over the humans."
All of the Autobots looked stunned. Well, all except for one.
"And if we refuse?" Optimus asked.
"Well then," Megatron started, leaning forward to be face-to-face with the Autobot leader. "I will have no choice but to open the pods and exposed them to Cybertron's toxic atmosphere. And then we can all watch them instantly die. Together"
The girl with pigtails banged against the glass. "This is not how I wanted my first trip to Cybertron to go," she whined.
"Jack~," Starscream said. "Time to come and play!"
He scratched the side of the jar, making a horrible shrieking noise. Jack cringed.
"Go ahead," he responded. "The bots were prepared to sacrifice themselves for my planet, I'll do the same for theirs."
"Me too," the girl with pigtails said. "Creepy."
The last boy swallowed nervously but nodded.
Optimus was silent for a few moments. "If my decision dooms the future of Cybertron, then so be it. But I will not forsake our human allies."
You idiot, Stormrunner thought.
He stabbed the Star Saber into the ground and backed away. The Autobots followed his lead, discarding their weapons.
They then agreed on a trade- one key for a human. Jack was worth two keys, due to him being worthy enough to bear the Matrix.
The Decepticons then inserted the keys into the lock and watched as a beam of light shot out and hit a building, completely restoring it to its prewar days.
"Whoa," the human girl gasped.
"This conflict is between Autobots and Decepticons," Optimus suddenly said. "Please allow me to return them back to Earth."
"Oh, believe me, they'll be much safer here."
They all looked confused for a moment, before realizing what he meant.
"Is the space bridge locked on target," he asked Starscream, who nodded.
"Per your instructions."
" Excellent. Why rule only one world, when I can rule two?"
The beam of energy shot up into the bridge. "No," Optimus breathed quietly.
"Such raw power," Megatron exclaimed. "What should I call my new territory? New Kaon? Or maybe... Glided Earth!"
The humans started to struggle more within their prisons.
"No!" Shouted Jack.
"Leave our planet alone!"
Megatron started to cackle, the sound carrying around the area. A sword appeared in place on Optimus's servo as he lunged forward. Stormrunner managed to intercept, making his attack from striking her, and managed to cut a gash on his hip, though he managed to throw her off.
He grabbed his Star Saber and sliced through Megatron's Prime arm. After dodging a missile from Starscream, he leaped toward the Omega Lock, cutting it in half. The resulting energy wave knocked them all back.
After the smoke had cleared, Stormrunner pushed herself up, as the Autobot escaped through their bridge.
She looked around at the devastation around her. "No!!" She cried.
"Guess we should cancel the welcome home party-" Knockout started to say, but promptly got knocked back by Starscream.
"Attend to our master," he snarled.
Megatron started to laugh again, and Knockout, Starscream, and Stormrunner exchanged a look. Is he going insane?
"Run, Autobots, run," he said. "But you can never run home."
-
Back on the Nemesis, on Earth, they stood assembled in front of Megatron, eager troops looking at their general.
"Our opportunity to revive Cybertron has been lost, due to the treachery of Optimus Prime!" He shouted as Stormrunner looked down upon the Autobot base. "But from our Fortress of New Kaon, we will instead seize control of this planet. Decepticons, transform and rise up!"
He raised his fist in the air, the Decepticons did the same. "Thought he'd never ask!" Starscream said as they all transformed into their alt forms.
-
As they attacked the base, the Autobots didn't really put up a fight. The only allies that showed up were Wheeljack and another human- both were neutralized eventually.
When they were called back, Stormrunner spotted a ball of red energy forming at the bottom of the ship, and smiled, knowing it was going to obliterate the base.
She watched it hit the structure, and destroy it completely. Afterward, she went down to the ruins, along with Megatron and Starscream.
Stormrunner and Atlas looked down at the Autobot symbol engraved in the floor, burning rubble surrounding it.
"This is the place alright," Starscream commented.
"This was the place," Megatron corrected.
"United we stand, divided they fall."
Stormrunner snorted. "What a cesspool."
She surveyed the wreckage, the flames warming her exterior. There's no way that they made it out alive-
But they deserve that fate. For dooming Cybertron, they deserve to suffer in the lowest of the Pits!
