A/N: I am about to play fast and loose with the timeline a little bit, I am aware, please just roll with it. We are also about to see just how deep their connection goes and it is really my first BIG deviation from cannon. There is a method to my madness.

Alyssay's dreams of Jon had been disturbing and dark the last few nights. Despite his best-efforts tens of thousands of wildings had fallen to the white walkers and their terrifying leader had been revealed, a frozen king of the dark night who could raise an army of the dead with just a wave of his hands. Job had delivered the survivors to castle black and by some miracle Ser Janos had followed orders and opened the gates. But the looks on the faces of his men as the bloody and beleaguered remnants of the wildings had poured through castle black had left her with a feeling of dread in her heart.
Maester Aemon had passed in Jon's absence and Alyssays felt a deep sorrow in her heart that she and Daenery's where truly the last of the Targaryen's now. Sam had left Castle Black with Gilly and baby Sam to travel to Old Town to become the new Maester for the Knights Watch and find out all he could about the white walkers and the threat that was coming from the library there.
Ser Davos had returned to Castle Black to beg for Jon's help once more for Stannis Baratheon but before Jon could even make a decision the red witch had arrived. Stannis had been defeated, his troops decimated and even the little Baratheon princess who had survived the death sentence of grayscale had been lost.
She had also seen signs that the Son's of the Harpy were planning something large but nothing would solidify and give her any real clues.
Even more disheartening was that she and Daenery's where still not really speaking. She told her sister of anything she thought would interest her from her visions such as the defeat of Stannis but she held everything about Jon back. Not because she didn't need to talk about her horrible sense of dread but because she knew her sister was still too angry to listen.
All of Daenery's time seemed to be consumed with dealing with the Son's of the Harpy and preparing for the fighting pits to reopen next week. There was a terrible distance between them that Alyssays didn't know how to fix, and it was breaking her heart.
.......................
Alyssays had just started getting used to the new way that the visions of Jon seemed clearer. But the moment she opened her eyes in this dream she knew something was different. She could smell the scent of the fire that burned in the fireplace. The cold flagstones under her feet and the biting cold of the air even here in Jon's chambers made her shudder.
Jon is sitting at his desk and going through the various scrolls laying there. The sense of exhaustion and doubt roll off him and it breaks Aly's heart that his decision to save lives had put him at such odds with his men. Jon rests his head in his hands. Suddenly Olly enters the room at a rush.
"Lord Commander! One of the wildings you brought back! Says he knows your Uncle Benjen!" Jon's young steward exclaims.
Jon stands up. "Are you sure he's talking about Benjen?"
Olly nods. "Says he was first Ranger. Said he knows where to find him."
Jon rushes out of his room, he doesn't even stop to gather his cloak or sword. He grabs his gloves and puts the on as he heads outside to the courtyard. Alyssays feels a horrible sense of dread and wrongness. Like when Drogo had been cursed or the knight king had brought back the dead. There was evil here. She ran after Jon and Olly's retreating backs to the courtyard where there are met by Ser Alliser.
"Man says he saw your uncle at Hardhome the last full moon." The first ranger is telling him.
"He could be lying." Jon suggests.
