"M-mom?!"

"Sorry for the theatrics, dear. But there really was no other way. Things are getting rather complicated." Your mother approached you and grabbed your face, inspecting it. "My god…you're covered in hickies! And half your breasts are exposed! And what the hell is this, a dog collar?"

You recoiled from her. "Leave me alone. Why the hell did you kidnap me?!"

"To save you from that awful boyfriend of yours!" Your mother snapped. She exhaled and sat down dramatically. "He's mixed up in some awful things. He's a horrible, evil person. Your father and I barely made it out alive from our business deals with–"

"You mean him being an enforcer for Shido?" You said, your brows furrowed. "Yeah, I know about that. I know what he does for a living. He tells me all about it when we have sex. " The last part wasn't actually true, you just were kind of annoyed at this situation. You thought you were done with your mother's bullshit, but here you are.

"He's brainwashed you!" Your mother pleaded. "Look at you…you're defiled! Ugh…fine, it wasn't your fault, it was that boy's. There's things we can do. We can hide this. Get you surgery to fix your torn–"

"What the fuck is wrong with you?" You shouted.

Your mother slapped you across your face. "Goro hits me harder," you smirked, trying to ignore the sting. Also a lie, other than light spankings, Akechi had never hit you.

"Ugh…" Your mother sighed. "I shouldn't have hit you. We're in a tough spot financially. You see, we were fired. Our money without income can only last so long. We just…wanted our family to be back together."

"Okay, what's the real reason?" You said, a bit angrily.

"We also want to protect you!" Your mother insisted. "You're my daughter…I love you."

You felt sick hearing those words. Your mother had said them to you so much through your childhood, but they were empty. You knew that you didn't even have to bring yourself to say the words, it was your actions and feelings that showed through them. Another wave of desperation washed over you, an aching hole in your chest because you were separated from Akechi. Had you attached to him too much? Maybe, but he was your protector. You needed him.

"You don't love me," you stated boldly. "Give me back my phone. And let me out of here! I love him and this stupid kidnapping won't stop me from being with him. Hah! Actually, the moment he finds out about this, you're as good as dead!"

Your mother laughed. "You really think he cares about you that much? Perhaps. But then that's to our advantage. He'll give us the money for your return, but instead of releasing you we'll leave the country."

You blinked. "He's never going to go for that."

Your mother laughed.

"No, I'm serious, if he finds out who took me you're going to die," you insisted.

"He's not allowed to touch us," your mother said.

You shook your head. "You're not safe, he's emotionally unstable. If I'm not there to keep him…" You sighed. "He's going to go insane." You winced, imagining Akechi blowing your mother's head off. It was a realistic anxiety. You knew your mother hated you, but you couldn't shake the affection you had for her due to her being your mother your entire life.

"Let me talk to him," you begged. "He needs to hear I'm okay. He's still at work right now, but-"

Your mother hit you again. This time, her blow was hard and across the side of your head. You fell out of your seat and hit your head on the side of the coffee table. You felt dazed.
