"NO!" You shriek, grabbing his arm and throwing him behind you. You brace for impact as its tendril forms into a claw, piercing right through your chest. You feel a wave of intense pain, and scream. You hear a wail from behind you, and release Sparky from its pokeball as the world fades to black and you hit the ground. You float in the depths of darkness, holding on to a thread of lifeforce, struggling, just hold on, hold on... For him. You feel a weak burst of strength, and you keep trying to stay awake, but it feels so good to let go, to escape the pain in your chest, to descend into the darkness. Distantly, you hear a quiet, "Y/n? Please, please, y/n..." It sounds like nothing more than an echo, but you seek it out, struggling to find the source in your subconscious. Suddenly, a bright light shines through your subconscious, covering, strengthening your string of lifeforce, growing stronger. The pain in your chest was subsiding, the light seemingly making it go away. It was a lot easier to open your eyes now, and you did just that. A relieved gasp erupted from a source next to you, and you realized it was Arven. He had given you some of the mixture of herb and crystal. You blinked slowly, then tried to sit up, pain flaring through your chest. You wince, and Arven's expression changes from relieved to concerned to awed. You looked down to see the wound in your chest was rapidly sealing shut. Arven turned slightly pink, and took off the eevee hoodie he was still wearing.

"Here," he said, giving it to you, as your hoodie now had a gaping hole in the chest, though thankfully it wasn't revealing. [The gender of the character is not specific, but Y/n would rather not be shirtless, regardless of gender or sex.] You put on the hoodie, then look up to find that Arven wasn't wearing anything under his hoodie, and now he was shirtless. You turn beetroot red, and look everywhere but at him.

"Sorry, am I making you uncomfortable?" He asked, looking concerned again. Your brain scrambled to say something, trying to decide if it wanted to yell, "Kiss me!" or "Not at all!", so you instead just blurted out an incoherent, "notisstalme!", which just made him confused.

"Was that english?" He teased, and Atticus snickers from behind him.

"I think Y/n's brain is short-circuiting. Try putting a shirt on, and they may finally spit out whatever that garbled mess of a sentence was," Atticus teased, and you and Arven turned pink.

"Shut up, Atticus," you grumbled, and he made a face that you interpreted as sticking his tongue out at you. You stick out your tongue back.

"Now, now, let's not fight," Arven chided, but you could tell he was resisting the urge to stick his tongue out at Atticus with you. "Anyways, we have the ingredients, so let's head back to the cave and rescue Penny and the others." He stood up and started walking back to the cave, and you and Atticus quickly followed, but not before sticking your tongues out at eachother again. You started running, grabbing Arven's hand and pulling him along beside you. Atticus ran on the other side of you. Before long, you all made it back to the cave. You look to others, and they look back. You all nod, and run into the cave. Arven runs over to the disk pokemon, and fed it the powdered crystal and herbs as the monster arose from the shadows around him. He yelped and stumbled back as the monster roared, but the disk pokemon roared back, shook itself free from its binds, and began attacking the monster. You grabbed Arven, and you, him, and Atticus rushed out of the cave. When out of the cave, Arven collapsed, knocking you over and landing on top of you.

"Arven!" You wheezed, and he grunted. "Arven, I- I can't breath- please-" you coughed, and he rolled off of you.

"We did it," he said weakly. You gave him a weak thumbs up, still recovering from having the wind knocked out of you. You look up and see a familiar figure approaching. Inside the cave, the sounds of fighting cease, and you hear the victorious roar of the disk pokemon erupt from inside the cave chamber. Out of the chamber, a few confused, but otherwise unharmed, teenagers stumbled, looking a bit dazed. Penny was among them, and Atticus's face lit up at the sight of her. He ran and scooped her up in a hug, and she looked a bit dazed, but happy. The familiar figure, whom you had momentarily forgotten about, reminded you of her presence when she hollered, "Y/n!! Arven!! Penny!! Atticus!!" at the top of her lungs. She started sprinting down the hill, and almost tripped. She ran over to your group, and jumped like a young child.
