Dante shook his head. Whatever scheme Jasper was doing, he was using Dante's name at multiple banks to cash blank checks, do credit card fraud, and request cash loans.
"It's too late for me to worry about it, my dad talked my head off enough, and I'm all out of excuses."
"I'm sorry tho... really," she sighed then shook her head.
"When's the last time you put some food in your stomach?" He decided to change the subject.
"I'm not hungry... are you?"
"I ate when I got home... you should eat something tho, Sin," he said.
"I'm okay," she lifted her head and smiled at him, "I promise."
"I guess it's safe to say we'll be skipping class tomorrow," he chuckled.
"Yup," she continued staring at him.
"Something on your mind?"
Shaking her head, Sinclair continued staring at him. "I was so scared..." her voice trailed off. "I... he could have... I thought he was going to kill us," she wiped at her face. "I'm sorry Dante."
"I'm okay, Sin," he wrapped his arms around her, "I'm sorry he did that to you, I wish I could have done something."
"There was nothing you could have done," she wiped her face again, "he just wanted to he a jerk and was ego driven... freaking evil," she shook her head.
"Our parents will handle it, Sin but I am sorry you had to experience that."
"I'll be fine," she took a few deep breaths.
There was a few minutes of silence between the pair. Both lost in their thoughts. They had just experienced a traumatic event together and although Dante was used to dealing with traumatic events, Sinclair thought she was prepared for anything but after the traffic incident, she realized, no matter how much training her parents put her through, she could not handle it.
"Sin?" Dante softly called.
"I'm not sleep," she answered.
"I was wondering..." he paused momentarily, "Would you like to be my girlfriend?"
Sinclair lifted her head and stared at him as her expression shifted a few times before settling on shock and excitement.
Dante smiled softly, "bad timing?"
"No," she quickly shook her head, "I... I um... I do... I mean yeah... I'll be your girlfriend," she released an awkward laugh. "I'm such a lame."
"You're cute," he winked at her.
"Stop it," she blushed, looking away.
"What am I doing wrong?" Amusement was laced in his voice as he made her look at him. "I can't compliment you?"
"No," she tried not to smile.
"Why not?" He quirked a brow.
"Because..."
"Because," he playfully mocked her. "Because what?" His gaze softened as he leaned forward.
"Because... I said s—" her words were cut short by the electrifying kiss.
"What was that?" He smirked against her lips.
"Nothing," she smiled before planting a lingering kiss on his lips.
Pulling away slowly, Dante cupped her chin and brushed his lips against hers before laying down. "I think we should stop there."
"Cool with me," she sat up, "I'm not tired, wanna watch some movies?"
