  Summer has been hard for some of the magic-friends, but easy for others. 
  Mattheo Riddle, the boy who lived, and the boy who fell hopelessly for a Slytherin girl last year, is feeling the withdrawals from not being with his friends or with magic.
  Artemis Bellator, the leading lady of the story, is facing some stiff resistance from the extended members of her family, not only for being best friends with a muggle-born, but for her close relationship with Mattheo.
  Lorenzo Berkshire, he's actually enjoying his summer. He spends his mornings lying-in, and his afternoons playing Quidditch with his cousins the Weasleys. 
  Frey Lancaster, the first few weeks of the summer holidays have been spent reaching out to local police stations, trying to get some information on her real identity. Frey was in a car accident before she started her first-year at Hogwarts, and she completely lost her memory.
  Mattheo spends a lot of his time out exploring the nearby towns. He's gotten taller over the holidays, and he's kept up with his workout routine for Quidditch, so there's some muscle starting to come in as well.
  The Virginia countryside has become Mattheo's playground over summer. He's made a couple of friends with some local kids who are out from school. Anything so he doesn't have to be at Uncle Reagan's house in Arcanville.
  A few weeks ago Mattheo was doing battle with Lord Voldemort, and now he's getting starved by Uncle Reagan. Reagan has locked away all of Mattheo's magic gear, and his owl Ingrem (so he can't send or receive any mail from his magical friends).
  Mattheo spends most of his nights with his twin sister, Delphini. They have a handful of muggle money that they've been able to make last for a few weeks, and they go the cinema a lot, or the local playhouse, or the arcade. Anything to keep them out of the house.
  Mattheo sneaks back into his room for the third night this week, he's been out at the skate park with some older friends.
  As Mattheo begins to change into his pyjamas, he looks to the only piece of his life that he's been able to keep from last year. Mattheo's biological family ring, even though it houses a shattered stone, it belonged to his biological father, so he wears it all of the time.
  Mattheo hasn't heard from any of his friends in weeks. 
  His best friend, Lorenzo Berkshire, is the closest thing that Mattheo has to a brother. He comes from a large family and has to share everything with his cousins.
  Lorenzo had invited Mattheo and Delphini to come and stay with them over summer, but he hasn't heard anything from Lorenzo since. And Mattheo and Delphini had so been looking forward to getting out of Uncle Reagan's house. 
  Frey Lancaster is the free spirit of their little group. She's a painter, an actress and a photographer. She has the creative streak that keep her busy with hundreds of little projects. 
  Frey is living with the Bellator family in Bellator Manor. Frey is a muggle-born, so Mattheo thought he would have at least heard from her this summer.
