The bells tolling echoed all throughout the large building at the top of Kings Landing, the sun shining down on the many people of the large kingdom. A day had gone by since the granddaughter of Kings Viserys had found out the news of his sudden death, and she was still grieving. Throughout the day, Aemond and Ser Criston Cole had gone out into the village to search for Aegon after the future king had not been seen anywhere within the Keep's walls. And after a long while of searching through the streets, they had been able to find the eldest son of Alicent Hightower and Viserys I Targaryen.

Dressed nicely and neatly with her hair done up by her handmaiden, Y/n found herself standing in between her betrothed and Helaena. Her hands were clasped together, eyes staring down at the skirt of her dress when Aemond reached out and grabbed one of her hands, holding it tightly in his as he squeezed it to comfort her. Just a bit in front of them, Alicent stood in front of the large crowd as the people of Kings Landing had been led inside by the guards. Their chattering voices could be heard all around as they wondered what was happening when they quited down when Otto rose his arms up.

"People of Kings Landing, today is the saddest of days. Our beloved king, Viserys the Peaceful, is dead." Otto announces, making his voice loud as the crowd murmured to each other at the sudden news. "But it is also the most joyous of days, for as his spirt left us, he whispered his final wish; that his firstborn son, Aegon, should succeed him."

There was a moment as the people of the kingdom chattered quietly to one another before their hands clapping together could be heard. As she looked around, Y/n could no doubt see some held relieved or excited expressions on their faces, showing that they were the people who didn't support and have their loyalty to her mother for being heir to the Iron Throne. The guards were walking through the crowd, pushing the people who were in the way off to the side as they marched in sync all together, keeping their gazes straight forward.

They came to a stop, turning to face one another before the musical sound of trumpets echoed throughout the structure. All in sync together, the guards unsheathed their swords and aimed it upwards, showing that this would a path for their future king to walk down through in a couple of seconds. The sounds of slow footsteps had everyone looking over just as Aegon was walking down and through the pathway the guards had made, the guards dropping their swords down when he had walked past them.

"It is your great good fortune and privilege to be here to witness this; a new day for our city, a new day for our realm. A new king to lead us." Otto yells out.

It wasn't long until Aegon was trenching up the stairs, stopping in front of his mother as his hand laid on the handle of the blade he had been given. Alicent holds her eldest child's face in her hands, leaning up while bringing his head down to press a kiss to his forehead before she led him forward. The guards were marching off as the queen stopped beside her son. Otto stepped to his grandson, giving him a nod before Aegon went down on one knee, gaze staring down at the floor.
