Year: Mitchell - Seventh Year
Mitchell James Malfoy was man of pride at seventeen. He was serious, yet knew when to have fun. And now in his seventh year, he was told that he was on top of the world. Personally, he saw his new positions as signs of respect. That others felt he was capable and responsible. He was Head Boy, he was Quidditch Captain, and a leader of the JB Study Program, as it was now called. And most importantly:
His sister was now at Hogwarts, and in a different House.
Now, Mitchell didn't mind that his sister was a Gryffindor. But it did mean that he saw her a little less, and that worried him. He felt it was hard to look out for her when he saw so little of her. And it wasn't just that he'd promised his father he'd look out for her, but Mitchell knew it was his duty to look after her. She was his little sister, after all.
"You worry far too much, Mitchy," Dora Lupin, his cousin, mocked. "Cissy can handle herself."
"It's not like you worried this much when Drake was put in Hufflepuff," Alana agreed mockingly.
"Drake is not my little sister, but my little brother. There is a difference," Mitchell replied easily. He ignored how they rolled their eyes, and focused on his breakfast.
"Good morning, Captain." Mitchell looked up to see a girl, Tracy Higgs, moving to sit across from him. Tracy Higgs was on the Quidditch team with him, and had been for a few years now. He'd kept her as a Chaser this year after he'd held tryouts.
"Good morning, Tracy," Mitchell greeted politely. Tracy was a very nice girl, and a very pretty one. She had voluminous black hair that fell just past her shoulders, and olive green eyes. She had a pretty smile, and soft features.
"So, about this practice schedule," Tracy brought up as she made her plate for breakfast, "it seems we have fewer practices than last year. Too much on your plate?"
Mitchell took a quick drink from his pumpkin juice. "No, I just thought we'd ease into more practices this year," he explained lightly.
"Do you plan on having us meet at the Hogsmeade visit again to discuss strategies?" Tracy inquired.
"I'm not sure yet. We'll see how it goes," Mitchell replied.
"We should. I like those meetings," Tracy said idly.
"Or you could do what normal people our age do, and actually take a date!" Alana mocked.
Mitchell scowled a little. Alana and Dora were always teasing him about his lack of a dating life . . . and that he'd never actually taken a girl out! But Mitchell had his reasons, the big one being that he wanted a real relationship, and to be with a girl he knew he could commit to. Sure, he found many girls very pretty, or with a nice personality, but there was never a girl Mitchell felt like he could be in a relationship with. And that was what he wanted.
"You've never taken a girl to Hogsmeade?" Tracy said with surprise.
"He's never taken a girl out period!" Dora laughed as she nudged her cousin.
Mitchell stood from his seat and grabbed his bag. "I'm done. Good day, ladies," he mumbled, a bit embarrassed and annoyed.
"You can't escape us forever. We have first class together!" Alana called to him with a laugh.
Mitchell now regretted his schedule, and wished he could just skip for the whole day!
Mitchell sighed as he tried to organize his notes. JB had finally finished for the night, and he was eager to go and get some sleep.
