Y/n POV
Tonight was a huge banquet. Apparently a very important customer came to celebrate and made the request of having not just mother there but also Oiran Kaiya and Oiran Kaiyo. It's not often anyone receives a customer that wealthy so she wanted everything to go perfectly. After going back and forth helping prepare for the big banquet that will happen tonight I've been dismissed for now until right before the banquet. I decided to head to my mothers room it's been a while since I relaxed in there. Normally I'd go back to my shared room with Shizune and Kiyoko.

Sakura isn't there anymore since she had her debut. But this time I guess I want to spend it somewhere different. I slid the door open and closed it behind me. A pecking sound came from the closed window. I slid it open to see the crow I saw earlier.

"Hello there, are you here to see my mother?"

It seemed to nod its head then held out its leg. I see a small folded envelope tied to its leg.

"I see. that must be uncomfortable just hold a second ok."

I carefully untie the letter from its leg and set it down on the desk. I didn't bother looking at it, after all it wasn't any of my business. The crow seemed to be rather tired poor thing must have flown either a long way or didn't rest hardly at all. I look around the room and spot a discarded cushion.

"Hold on a second okay."

It nodded. I set the cushion near the desk I notice some fruit in a bowl and some water. I'm sure mother wouldn't mind if I took a little. Besides I can get some more in a little bit. I pat the cushion, the bird hopped down and sat on the cushion ruffling its feathers as it made itself comfortable. So cute!

"You must have worked hard to get here. Here have some food and water."

It cawed in appreciation as it took some of the fruit from my hand and drank some water. I hesitantly hovered my finger over its head to see if it would let me pet it. To my surprise it leaned into my touch as I gently stroke its feathers. I smile.

"your a really sweet crow. Thank you for bringing messages to my mother we appreciate it. It's a rare gift for us here to receive genuine messages with true feelings and I have a feeling that's the kind of messages your master sends."

The crow gives a small caw of affirmation. I can't help cracking a smile.

"It's funny it feels like you can actually understand everything I'm saying. I never met a bird who can do that before. Hold on a second ok."

I go to the drawer getting a small cloth and a small wooden bowl. I put the fruit I had earlier on the cloth in along with a little more on just in case in front of it I proceed to do the same with the water with the bowl.

"Ok, now I'll put this here so you can eat them as you like. It would be uncomfortable to have someone trying to feed you when you're resting. This way you can take your time."

It nodded its head then tucked it under its wing.

"Huh that was fast I didn't think he'd feel safe enough to immediately fall asleep."

I shrug turning away, I notice a wrapping cloth open it seemed to have some things piled on it.

"Y/n."

I turn around to see my mother standing right inside the room. It looks like she just got back from the meeting with the madam.

"Sorry mother I didn't mean to intrude I just-"

"nonsense this is your room too in a sense."

she smiled at me. She looked to the window that was open.

"Oh the crow came back to see you. it looked to be very tired and is resting right now."

I point to the cushion next to the desk with the food and water next to it. Mother turned her head to the crow with a fond look.

"I expect it was carrying a letter too?"

"Yes it's on the desk."

I point to the letter.

"It looked tired so I said it should rest and set a spot for it. Although I'm surprised it decided to stay I never seen a bird do that before. It's like it could understood everything I said."

"Yes, I don't know how he managed to train it, but it seems to understand most things."

"Curious. Mother?"

"hmm.."

I look over to the wrapping cloth that had some items on it then back at my mother.

"Oh that... that's just in case something happens."

"Something happens? What do you mean by that, what would happen?"

My mothers eyes softened she sat down on one of the many cushions in her room, then patted her lap. I sit in front of her laying my head on her lap; she runs her fingers through my hair. Instantly relaxing into her touch creating a relaxed atmosphere.

"Y/n would you like to know a little about your father."

That caught my attention. I never heard anything about him before even from others in the house. He was a taboo subject here; so I learned early on not to ask about him. I hummed looking up at her curiously.

"Well he was very strong and kind; knowledgeable too. There are times you remind me him. With the way you put your all into your practice and work, how you're kind to others. Also the color of your hair how you have white at the top fading into h/c. You got those from him, although he had all white hair you know, just like snow. But he had a very dangerous job that would make things difficult for him. He was part of an organization that helps keep the public safe from things that only come out at night. Unfortunately he's no longer in this world anymore. But I know if he's looking over us wishing us well. But y/n listen to me if there may be a time that you have to run away from this place because of danger. And promise you'll do exactly as I say understand."

I nod to her worried.

"I promise. Is that what that is for?"

I nod in the direction of the spread out wrapping cloth.

"Yes. I don't know why but I'm getting a bad feeling. It's probably nothing but I'd rather be prepared just in case."

"I see."

"Listen to me Y/n; I'm going to give you instructions on what to do if that day comes. I want you to memorize them and never forget understand."

"Yes."

"Good."

The words she said next shocked me greatly. Although in hindsight maybe I shouldn't be all that surprised considering how many similarities I've come across since being reincarnated here. Starting with crows that could understand what you're saying.

Turns out I wasn't just reincarnated in taisho era japan. Oh no, I was reincarnated into Demon Slayer. Now being an anime fan in my previous life, it's definitely crossed my mind what it be like to be isekaied into an anime or something around those lines. But no one expects for it to actually happen damn it!

Well I guess it could be worse. It could have been attack on Titan, just the thought of that made me internally shiver in fear. Still this universe is nothing to scoff at either, it's still dangerous. I wonder if the story events have already started. But putting all that aside, it's still a lot to process.

But even so... this is still my life now and my reality. I've accepted that long ago this I'll just consider this an add on. I don't know where I am in the timeline yet for now it's probably best to go on as is until something actually happens. Although with my luck I have a feeling something will. I only hope that others won't be dragged to much into it.

"Ok y/n you should rest in your room now, we have a big night tonight. And promise me if I ever tell you to do this you'll do it without hesitation and without looking back."

"Yes."

I nod, leaving the room heading to mine to rest.
