After dinner everyone went back to their normal things and I was cleaning up. Nicholas was helping. "Thank you." I said as he handed me the last of what was left on the table. "Anytime love." He said and leaned against the counter next to me. I finished putting everything away and took a breather. "You okay?" He asked. "Yeah." I said.

"You gonna be sad to leave this in a couple of months?" He asked. "What do you mean?" I replied walking to my room. "Graduation." I sat on my bed and he closed the door. "Oh right, that..." I said as he walked over and sat down next to me. "I'm probably still gonna stay here with the girls until they graduate." I finished. "They won't graduate for two more years." He said. "I know. But I can't leave them."

"Rory when are you gonna do something for yourself?" He asked. "What are you talking about Nicholas?" I got up and started to fix stuff around my room. "What about after they graduate? They'll get jobs and apartments or boyfriends they'll live with. Then what will you do?"

"I haven't thought that far yet." I said. "Rory come on..." He stood up and walked over to me. "Don't come on me Nicholas... you don't understand." I said. "Understand what?!" God help me. "Understand anything about me! I get it you come from a pretty decent family especially money wise but not everyone can afford your luxury. Not that I would expect you to understand anyways." I said. "Rory..."

"If you cannot handle having a working class girlfriend go find something else. We all know your amazing reputation with women." I grabbed my coat and walked out of my room. "Is everything okay?" Venus asked as the others walked out. "I'm going for a walk." I said putting my coat on. "Rory don't just walk away from this." Nicholas said coming out of my room. "I want you gone by the time I get back." I said to him. "Sis what happened?" Scarlett asked. "Nothing. Jack, Will I figure you both might not be here when I get back either. Merry Christmas." I said and walked out of the dorm. I remember what happened the last time I stormed out. So this time I went to the school's library. Safer than outside. I hung out there for a couple of hours before heading back to the dorm. When I walked in the girls were there with hot chocolate and no boys to be seen.

"They left?" I asked. "Funny." Scarlett said. "He's in the room." Venus continued. I walked into my dorm and he was there. "I told you I wanted you gone by the time I got back." I said hanging my coat up. "You did." He said. "But of course you never listen." I replied. "Rory can we please just talk?" He asked. "There is nothing to talk about." I said. "Rory..."

I closed the closet door and opened the window to let in some fresh air. "Pierce." I froze. He hasn't called me by last name since the diner. I turned around. "Pierce?"

"I had to get your attention." He said. "Now you have it." I said crossing my arms. "I don't wanna ask you because I don't wanna scare you away." He said softly. "You're scaring me now." I said with an attitude and he looked up at me.

Sadness

Expressed all over his face you can see it clearly. The confused brow, the way his eye look they've gotten smaller and watery, the frown he's trying so hard to hide. I've never seen him like this before. I made him feel like that...

I walked up to him, careful with my movements cause I didn't know what could set him off and what wouldn't as I slowly moved closer to him placing my hand on my cheek. "I just meant when you call my Pierce it's different now. I feel like you mad at me instead of teasing me and I'm scared that you'll get up and leave. I've seen it happened first hand and I don't want it to happen with you." I said softly. Quiet.

He didn't say a word. I'm lucky I got him to look me in the eyes which seemed like he was fighting so hard not to look away. I leaned in a gave me a soft but passionate kiss hoping he would return it like he always does trying to gain control but nothing. He hands didn't even move from where they had been, one in his pocket and the other at his side. "Nicholas..." He stepped back and stood there for a minute looking at me before turning around and walking to the door. "Nicco..." I was hoping he would answer to one of those names  but he froze at the door.

Nothing...

No answer. After a moment his hand reached for the handle. "Rossi I swear to god you walk out right now and everything is over..." I didn't want it to be a threat. I wanted him to answer the first time. Or turn around and grab me in his arms and not ever let me go. I wanted us to fix this and I wanted to take back anything I've said that upset him. He turned the door knob and quietly closed the door behind him.
