Y/N POV

When Rowley got back, he sent them all an urgent owl. The four of them had been in their classes, all seperate classes, mind you, when the owls had all broken into the classrooms.

Meet me in my office. Now.

"I need to be excused," you told the Professor, after interrupting everyone in the middle of a lecture. "Sorry." You didn't wait for the Professor's response, just headed down to the classroom downstairs to grab Sebastian from his advanced potions class in the dungeons. He was already halfway up the stairs when he saw you.

"What's this about?" He asked, waving the parchment in the air.

"He must've found something urgent," you said, and the both of you had not stopped, walking quickly to Rowley's office.

"I hope it's not horrific," Sebastian told you, slowing his long strides to meet your shorter ones. "I don't think any of us can do that right now."

You thought of Ominis and Imelda and their - issue. "Me neither."

Ominis and Imelda were already at Rowley's office when you got there, waiting outside the door for them.

When they walked in together, Rowley was sitting on the couch they usually sat on with his head turned up to the roof.

"Professor?" Ominis asked, when he didn't hear any speaking or movement. The professor didn't move.

"Rowley," Sebastian said, walking up to him, and the Professor sat up. You breathed out a sigh of relief. What was he doing!? He looked almost -

"There is a dire situation at hand," Rowley told them. "I went to the manor-" A small choked breath from Ominis. "- and Marvolo is gone. The only people left there are Mrs Gaunt and Marvolo's wife. They've stayed behind. I followed their tracks.. and I found them at another muggle town on the outskirts of Lower Hogsfield. Marvolo has hired all of Ranrok's old Loyalists, and Ashwinders."

Something in you was ready to snap. You couldn't go through that again. What had happened in your fifth year, you were finally moving past that. So was Sebastian, and the two of you just stood their with vague expressions. Imelda had her head down, and Ominis was tilting his head to the side and then towards the ground, like he needed to hear - but he didn't want to.

"They're all coming here next," Rowley said, his voice desperate now. "I've told Headmaster Black. He's locked down the school. We are in grave danger. There are many of them coming."

"He plans to finish what Salazar started, with the school?" Sebastian asked, and you looked towards him. His expression was pained, his eyes looked at Rowley, then met yours, and then fell to the ground.

"He does," Rowley confirmed. "All Salazar ever wanted was a pure blood school. Of course, the other founders of the school shut him down for it, and he never did what he wanted. But Marvolo is set to finish it off. None of us are safe. Not even the pure bloods," he looked at Ominis. "Some of you are considered blood traitors, yourself included, boy."

Ominis nodded silently. You couldn't imagine how he was feeling. Over and over his family were putting people in danger, himself included. All his life, his family were cold - violent and cruel beings, torturing and killing children and adults alike. He felt as though now, he couldn't keep himself safe. He couldn't keep Imelda, or their unborn child safe, he couldn't keep the school safe, he couldn't keep anyone safe. His expression was faraway, but it was the most heartbreaking thing you'd ever seen.

He wouldn't respond to anything else anyone said, just sat down next to Imelda, who didn't touch him. Any sort of touch now wouldn't reach him. At least, for the moment.
