CW: Super heavy unsettling details!!
"Elijah please stop moving!" Ethan exclaimed, as he held Elijah's shirt to look at his gash.
Elijah squirmed as a burning pain coursed through his body. "Well it fucking hurts."
Ethan dropped the shirt and went into the fridge. He took out an ice pack, and a bottle of alcohol. "It's going to be more painful, in a second."
Elijah winced as he set the ice pack on his gash. "What are you doing?"
"Numbing it." Ethan said. He went back into the kitchen and grabbed a steak knife. He poured a big glass of whiskey and handed it to Elijah.
"I'm not drinking that." Elijah said, squeezing his eyes shut.
"If you don't, this is going to hurt so bad." Ethan replied.
Elijah looked at the glass for a moment and shook his head. "I'm not drinking it."
Ethan sighed and set the cup aside. "Okay.." He removed the ice pack. "Wait one second."
He quickly rushed over to the junk drawer and pulled out a lighter. He set it besides Elijah, who sat on the countertop.
"What's that for?" Elijah asked and panicked.
"To stop bleeding." Ethan replied. He grabbed the knife again. "If you pass out during this, it will fuck up everything. You ready?"
"Wait, you're gonna light me on fire?!" Elijah exclaimed.
"It's to close the wound. Now are you ready or do you want to keep bleeding?" Ethan asked.
Elijah grabbed the side of the counter top and nodded. "Yeah." He squeezed his eyes shut.
Ethan lifted up his shirt and started to dig away at the bullet. Immediately, Elijah screamed as it shook his body with pain. He felt his body trying to move away.
"Elijah." Ethan said calmly.
Elijah groaned in response, as he felt the knife go deeper into his side. He felt his head go light. "Ethan. Ethan!"
"It's almost.." Ethan dug a little more and then placed the knife down. He set the bullet down next to Elijah and he screamed in pain.
His arms shook, and he could feel himself falling back. He cursed under his breath as his body radiated with pain.
"I'm almost done." Ethan said. "I know it hurts. I know." Ethan grabbed the lighter and pushed Elijah to lay down on the counter.
Elijah could feel something against his body, but his senses were so overwhelmed with the lingering pain he couldn't tell what was happening.
Elijah cried softly. His head was ringing. "I hate this job. I hate it." He whispered. "I hate it so much."
Ethan dropped the lighter and grabbed a wet cloth from the sink. He pressed it against Elijah's skin. "It's over. It's over." He said. Elijah swallowed, choking on his own tears. His face was hot.
Ethan grabbed the wet cloth, and rinsed it with cold water. He wiped Elijah's face. "Never would i have thought, i'd be having to doctor a bullet wound." Ethan moved the cloth. "Come on, I'll help you up, and I can take you to rest."
"Ethan." Elijah mumbled through gritted teeth, as Ethan helped him up. "I have something to tell.. you."
"Tell me tomorrow." Ethan replied.
"I need to tell you now." Elijah whispered. They both walked to Elijah's room, Elijah was limping and groaning as they entered his room. Elijah laid on the bed, and Ethan turned on the fan. He started to rummage through his closet. "Ethan, listen."
"No, I know what you're going to say will piss me off. Which is why you should tell me tomorrow, because if it's something horrible I will actually go berserk." Ethan said, turning around with some clothes. "Now, when you wake up. Put these on and stay in bed."
"You're not.." Elijah stopped, taking a deep breath. "You're not.. listening."
Ethan sighed. He set the clothes on the edge of the bed. "If it's about Alex, or your job, or anything pissy like that I-"
"I let him go."
Ethan stared at Elijah. "Who?"
Elijah squeezed his eyes shut and forced them back open. "Denis."
Ethan blinked. He stood up from the bed. "You didn't."
Elijah nodded. "I gave him my spare key. Hes.. leaving tonight. I'm done."
"Elijah." Ethan laughed unnerved. "Elijah. No fucking way." He rubbed his face. "Elijah, that's not funny. We could fucking die. Your going to fucking die!" He yelled.
"Me and Alex.."
"You let him go because of Alex?!" Ethan exclaimed. "The guy who you dumped?"
"I need to talk to Alex." Elijah said, sitting up. "Phone.."
"No." Ethan grabbed Elijah's phone and placed it in his pocket. "Explain to me what your idea was, letting go the man were supposed to fucking kill?"
"Ethan. Please." Elijah pleaded.
"What were you thinking?" Ethan exclaimed. "He's going to kill you. Us. He's crazy."
"I.." Elijah stopped.
"What?" Ethan asked.
Elijah laid back down and turned away from Ethan. "I'm leaving."
Ethan went deathly silent. After a few moments, Ethans footsteps echoed across the room. "With Alex?"
"Yeah." Elijah whispered.
"Great." The door knob clicked, and the door was slammed shut. Ethan walked outside, holding Elijah's car keys. He walked to his car cursing under his breath.
Leaving him to deal with Mr.Plaq.
Running away with this boy he dropped for a while and just rekindled with.
How could he leave so free without a thought?
"Ethan."
Ethan was just about to turn around when he was slammed against Elijah's car. Ethan's heart pumped as he fell to the floor. He felt something drip down his lip. He was grabbed again and was held by the shoulders.
His vision focused and he saw Mr. Plaq standing over him. Some of Ethans colleagues stood by him, looking down at Ethan.
"Ethan. Ethan. Ethan." Mr. Plaq shook his head. "I'm disappointed. Where's Elijah?"
Ethans mind raced. He didn't reply.
Mr.Plaq gestured, and Ethan was punched in the face. Ethan could feel something drip onto his clothes, and his lips burned. "Where is he?"
Ethan stared at Mr.Plaq. Still not saying a word.
"Again." Mr Plaq said, sighing. "And don't stop till he's passed out. Don't you dare kill him." Mr. Plaq turned away. "We need him."
