Hehe funny pic of Arthur
(Set in episode 4 season 1)
Today, a banquet will be thrown to celebrate a new alliance between Camelot and a kingdom we used to have a lot of tension with. As Gwen styles my hair, I take some deep breaths and prepare myself for the long speeches I will have to endure. Gosh, I hope there is enough wine to get me through this.

"Is anything worrying you Y/N?" Gwen asks.
"No, I just know there is going to be at least one very long and boring speech, and I sure hope there is wine." I sigh.
Gwen chuckles, and then we fall back into silence.
Gwen finishes my hair, I silently thank her and then we leave my chambers. Walking down the winding staircase and then finally making it to the banquet hall, two guards open the doors for me. I turn and nod to Gwen, and then I make my entrance.
"Ah, here she is, the wonderful Y/N" Uther announces, reaching a hand out to me which I take. I give a convincing smile, and move to be standing next to Uther.
I curtsy to the kings and then slide into my seat, which is to the right of Arthur's. I look over at Morgana, who is sat on Uther's left, and we grin at each other. Arthur strides over and plops down in his seat. I let out a chuckle but tried to cover it up by coughing, but Arthur caught it.
"What are you laughing at?" He inquires, a slight smirk resting on his face. I meet his eyes, and say as smoothly as I can, "Nothing"
"Mhm, sure." Arthur faces forward, as do I, while still trying to hold in my laugh.
As I look around the room, I spot Merlin in a ridiculous outfit. Definitely Arthur's doing. I burst out laughing, but am able to contain it to just shaking. Arthur takes notice, and a mischievous smile spreads on his face.
"Noticed my manservants special attire huh?"
"Uhm- yes" I giggled.
"Glad you find it funny"
"What do you mean? No I- I don't find it funny" I shook harder with laughter, unable to contain it. Arthur begins to chuckle as well, and Merlin takes notice and glares at him. Arthur winks (I know what your thinking, sorry but not Merthur in this book) and nods his head in my direction.
Merlin scowls, but when I look back at him he just gives a disapproving stare.
I mouth "sorry" and then succeed in calming myself down. Everyone begins to sit down, and Uther makes his toast.
Long speeches go slowly, and we finally get to the part where Arthur, Uther, and the other king take a drink to signify the new peace and alliance.
"WAIT!!" Merlin yells, coming in from my right and taking the chalice out of Arthur's hands.
I stand up quickly.
"Merlin, what are you doing." Arthur demands with gritted teeth.
"Boy, what is this about." Uther demands.
"This chalice has been poisoned by him," Merlin points to the other king, "with the intention of killing Arthur."
"This is absurd!" The other king exclaims.
"Go on then, explain why you think this accusation is true."
"I just know it is, I was told so."
"By who?" The other king questions.
"I- I can't say."
A moment of silence falls on the hall, until Uther breaks it.
"Well, then you drink it. If it is poisoned, then we will know you told the truth. If it isn't," Uther turns to the other king, "then you can do whatever you like to him."
"This is ridiculous! I'll drink it." Arthur ordered, trying to take the chalice but Merlin keeps it away from him.
"No. I'll do it." Merlin takes a deep breath, and then brings the chalice to his lips. He drinks, then brings the cup down. Not feeling anything, he says hesitantly, "It's fine."
The other king begins to unsheathe his sword, but then Merlin starts to choke and hold his throat. After a few seconds, Merlin falls to the floor unconscious. Arthur rushes to him and picks him up.
"Bring him to my chambers!" Gauis yells, hurrying out the door as Arthur and I follow. Uther and the guards grab the other king and their guests.
Pushing the door open to Gauis's chambers, Arthur lays Merlin on the bed. Gauis gets medicine ready at his stations hastily.
I rush to get water, and then tend to Merlin's increasing fever.
"Can you help him?" I exclaim, not taking my eyes off Merlin.
"Well, to be able to find an antidote, I need to be able to identify the poison." Gauis replies, grabbing books off the shelves and dropping them on a desk. "Bring me the chalice."
Arthur hands Gauis the chalice, and he examines it before pulling out what looks like a leaf. He checks his book, and finds what it is.
"Good news, I know what it is and there is a cure." Gauis says, running his finger over the page as he reads.
"Ok, and what's the bad news?" Arthur demands, clearly worried.
"Well- Sire, the antidote is only found in a very deep dark cave. It is very dangerous and hard to obtain." Gauis says guiltily.
"Don't worry, I'll handle it." Arthur declares, giving me a reassuring smile before rushing out of the room.
*Time skip to when Arthur gets back with the antidote*
I swiftly walk down the hallway, and spot Gwen holding a meal tray.
"Who's that for?" I inquire.
"Arthur" She answers.
"Let me take that to him" I offer, holding out my hands to grab the tray.
I nod to the guards, and they motion for me to continue to the cells. I make my way down to the dungeon, and find Arthur's cell immediately. I clear my throat, and his neck snaps up. When he realizes it's me, he smiles.
"Isn't that a servants job?" He jokes.
"I wanted to bring you dinner tonight," I lean closer and whisper, "Did you get the antidote for Merlin?"
"Ah, thank you." He says, stepping up to grab the tray as I open the door. He slides his hands under my own holding the tray, and slips the plant into my right hand, giving me a small wink.
I close the door as he steps back, and I smile at him before rushing to Merlin. I hand Gauis the antidote, and he prepares it and opens Merlin's mouth to pour it in and make him swallow. Seconds feel like hours as we watch and see if it worked. Merlin stops breathing, and a tear falls down my cheek. I turn away and hug Gauis, and then hear a weak voice from behind me.
"Gross Gauis, your like three times her age."
I spin around, and Merlin grins wide.
"Merlin!" I squeal, and lean down and squeeze him hard in a big hug.
I release him after a moment and step back, wiping my tear away.
"Thank you." Merlin says, sitting up.
"The credit goes all to Arthur and Y/N, he got the antidote while she smuggled it in and cared for you non stop."
I slightly blush remembering Arthur and I's interaction while getting the antidote to Merlin.
I sigh a breath of relief, and excuse myself to retire for the evening.
I hope you enjoyed this chapter! It's a bit of a long one, but I really liked this episode and the ideas just kept flowing out of me lol.
