We left my place a bit late due to Mrs. Johannson. I started to get worried due to the fact that we are on a schedule. During the drive to the location, I put my professional filter on knowing that today was going to be busy with paparazzi and going from A to B to C. I'm hoping there's a driver with Mrs. Johannson's assistant, but I didn't catch her name yet. I quickly check on Scarlett in my rear mirror, she's texting angrily and annoyed. Maybe to her lawyers. 'Divorce babe, divorce.' I replay Adele's Instagram live, making chuckle. We arrived at the location, I instantly saw Mrs. Johannson's assistant and 3 unfamiliar faces. While parking, I mentally prepare myself. 'Don't fuck it up Y/N/N" I thought to myself.
I step out of the car to greet Mrs. Johannson's assistant. Who I now know as Dina, "You're late" she simply stated. "Don't blame me, tell that to Mrs. Johannson," I said while getting all of their belonging in the rental. "I got it." I hear a man say while rushing toward me. "No it's fine, I can help." I quickly say. "But it's my job so excuse me, ma'am," He said. "Charles, they're non-binary" I hear Dina loudly say from inside the car. "Oh, my apologies. Mx...." He apologies now facing me. "It's fine. Rodríguez. Y/N Rodríguez, " not realizing I go into formation. A habit. "Military?" He questioned. "Yes Sir" I replied while relaxing my body. "I'm Charles Wells, Mrs.Johannson's driver." He said while reading my body language. He extends his hand, I shook it while smirking. He's a veteran, I'll ask later. "Ok let's finish getting this luggage inside, Charles," I suggested while continuing to help out.
2 other faces are now with Mrs. Johannson and Dina. Charles and I get in the car, thank god I rented out a Chevrolet Suburban. We began heading to SF, it's a 1-hour drive. I still don't understand why they didn't just take a direct flight from NY to SF. We have Charles driving, I'm the passenger, Mrs. Johannson and Dina in the middle, and 2 unfamiliar faces in the back. Dina began discussing the schedule for today with Mrs. Johannson. When I hear a notification go off from my phone, I checked who it was. *Message from Dina, 3 unknown numbers from Group Chat* I opened my phone to see the message on iMessage.
From Dina: Welcome to the team Mx. Y/N Rodríguez, This chat will always be confidential. When we arrived at the first meeting of the day, I will give you an NDA to go through and will need to sign. The other 3 people in this chat are Mr. Wells, Ms. Sandoval, and Mx. Velez. Ms. Sandoval is Scarlett's stylist and Mx. Velez is Scarlett's makeup artist. You've met Mr. Wells, he's usually our New York driver but he's now our primary driver.
From Ms. Sandoval: This is Esme, I am Scarlett's stylist. Nice to meet you, Mx. Rodriguez.

I look back and see Esme and Drew waving at me. I just smiled while returning to my phone. I just know that this team is an easygoing type of vibe. "Y/N?" I hear. "Yes?" I replied searching for the voice. "So you have military experience?" Charles asked. I look back to check if the other passengers are listening. Thank god they're all discussing and reorganizing, basically in their own world. "Yes, I'm in the army" I answered Charles. "Your Rank and Role?" I lightly chuckled. "Captain as a Medic" I answered. "A Medic? How did you end up being a bodyguard if you're a medic?" He asked. "I've been in the Army for a decade now, I've changed careers throughout my time" I answered. "Mhmm, you've been in combat for the majority though, right?" "Yes." "You earned my trust, Captain," Charles whispers. " Don't worry, I wouldn't say a word. It's not my place to." I relax to his comment. "Thank you."
