Sebastian POV

Sebastian's dinner was pushed through the slot in the door. He was sitting against the wall on the other side of the room, his legs spread out in front of him. He stood up, walking towards the tray. He leant down to pick it up, but stopped halfway down.

Something snapped.

He kicked the tray as hard as he could and it cluttered on the wall. Soup and bread went flying across the room.

Sebastian stood for a moment, observing the food on the walls and the floor and then collapsed to the ground, curling up into a small ball with his forehead pressed to the cold floor. He burst into the most heavy bout of sobs he'd ever cried in his life. His throat ripped with each heaved breath, with every howling cry.

He had never been so fucking devastated.

He didn't know such noises could emerge from himself, but he was sure it was him making them, there was no one else here. The floor where his forehead was resting was wet, so he sat up and crossed his arms across his chest and squeezed, his legs crossed, trying to slow his breathing but he couldn't.

"Anne," he managed to say out loud to no one. "Anne, I'm so sorry," he sobbed, squeezing his eyes shut. He was pressing into himself harder across his ribs until they hurt, trying to feel pain somewhere else. "I'm so sorry."

He kept repeating the same three words until he collapsed from exhaustion onto his bed into another nightmare.
