Request – The Reader and Kayce were supposed to go camping but before he can get home from work there's a big rainstorm that's supposed to last all weekend. The reader is glad she doesn't have to go but feels bad for Kayce. I don't really know what else to put – please make it cute and smut-ish...thank you!

You looked out the window as the first few raindrops were starting to fall. Since the temperature had drop down below fifty now you had made a pot of tea after getting in from your workday. You know on the drive home, listening to the weather report, that your weekends plans were about to change, and someone was not going to be happy about it.

You had promised Kayce a few weeks ago that you'd go camping with him this weekend. While you were very much a nature girl, loved being with animals and in the wild, you were exhausted. Work had been draining at the veterinarian's office lately due to fall fading away fast and folks trying to prepare for the winter months. This was your first day in eight days where you actually beat Kayce home, him being Livestock Commissioner.

But you knew with the rain already starting, and supposed to continue all weekend, there was no way you and Kayce could make it to the camp site by this evening and set everything up. You also hated how much joy that thought put into your heart right now. Kayce had been looking forward to this, he wanted some time just away from everything but you. His own work had been challenging lately, his father was making him help with something you weren't one hundred percent sure was legal, and honestly you weren't sure how long it had been since you had some free time with him that wasn't just the two of you falling into your pillows late at night.

Even thinking about all this was making you more tired. But the thought of Kayce's face, even though you knew he'd try and hide it, when he got home of not getting to go made you try and think of something to counter this setback with.

Two years ago, a cabin was built south of the main house, the one you stood in right now. Kayce and you had moved in and started your own life separate, or tried to, from John who was still in the main house. John had tried to get you both to switch him, but you didn't want the big house until you had other tiny humans to fill it with. Kayce still only got Tate on the weekends mostly. You glanced around the cozy living room and an idea struck you. Picking up the phone you called over the bunkhouse, knowing the quicker you got help, the quicker everyone could be in their respective houses for when the storm really hit.

An hour later.

Stepping back, you smiled at your work. After getting a few of the wranglers to help, gone was most of the furniture in your living space and in it's place was a large tent, the one that should have been set up at the campsite. You had a fire going in the fireplace and were pretty proud of yourself. One positive was that you were only dressed in finishing shorts and one of Kayce's pullovers since you didn't have to worry about the temperature inside, your hair up in a messy ponytail. The rain was coming down hard now and you were about to call Kayce to ask where he was when you saw his headlights coming in along the driveway.

You walked over and sat along the inside of the tent, crossing your ankles, and wrapping your arms around your bent knees. A few minutes later you hear Kayce opening the door and quickly stepping inside. He didn't listen to you this morning when you told him to take an umbrella, so his shoulders were damp as he took off his hat and kicked off his boots, still not seeing you or what you did.

"Babe!" He called over his shoulder, turning around to walk but stopping. "I'm sure you've...hey."

"Howdy," You smiled brightly at him. You watched Kayce's eyes lighten up and a large smile break out along his face. "I figured if we couldn't go camping outside there wasn't really a rule saying we couldn't go camping inside."
