But it seems you were pregnant with twins.  –   he smiled faintly.  –  You lost one of the babies, but the other one survived. The Gods must definitely have plans for him!

Jiang Wanyin gasped. He felt dizzy at the new possibility, incredulous as to the words the doctor was saying.

- It was too early to diagnose, but now there is no doubt, Masters. I should believe you are well into your 3rd month now. The Gods are smiling down on you, praise be! Congratulations.

He bowed again, now watching them cry and laugh, squeezing each other in a suffocating embrace, whispering words of love and affection. He was ready to leave, always amazed at how happy people were at such news, no matter poor or rich; he loved delivering such news. 
Life had to go on.

When the doctor turned, he was surprised to see Zewu-Jun bowing low to him, holding a large box in his hands.

- We are so grateful, Lǎo Zǐ.  Please, accept this for your efforts! We will be happy if you are to agree to deliver our child when the time comes.

The old physician was amazed to see the Master of the Cloud Recesses show his respect, and then call a servant to escort him home and help him with the gifts he had prepared for him. 
He bowed again, mumbling:

- No need, Master. Of course, I will be here. It is my job. Master Lan is too kind.

He left them smiling and caressing each other, wondering what kind of people those were. One thing was certain  –   both Masters were quite extraordinary.

He left instructions for the housekeeper, promising to come back for a new check in a month's time, an left, content with the outcome for this particular family  -   they were truly blessed with Life even within Death.
