Rain poured, heavily. The liquid drops making a tapping noise when it hit the windows of Addison Apartments. Tree branches bopped up and down, struggling to keep up with the heavy rain. Dark grey clouds cluttered the sky, thunder rumbling as well.

The tenants of the apartments stayed inside for obvious reasons. Inside, two teenagers sat in one of their rooms, heavy metal playing in the background for noise. One of the teenagers was a tall lanky brown-haired boy. His long dark hair was tied back in a low ponytail as he worked on his painting.

While the other one was a nice (h/c)-haired girl, sitting down on the boy's worn-out orange bean bag. She played with a bouncy ball that she had found on the floor of her friend's room.

"Yo, (y/n/n)," the boy had called out to his friend, taking her attention away from the ball.

Turning her head, she saw her friend's painting that he had just finished. The paint was fresh and new, giving a subtly strong smell to her nostrils. It was a picture of a tree that had no leaves on it, with a dark night background. The girl took a good look at the picture, trying to see what weird and deep meaning her friend came up it.

"What's it supposed to mean?" she asked.

The boy then looked back at his creation which still sat perfectly on the wooden easel. He contorted his head a bit, his eyes squinting as he did so.

"Uhhh, I don't really know," he then chuckled.

Removing his white apron, he threw it in the already large pile of clothes he had sitting in the corner of his room. His friend then went back to bouncing the ball up and down, her eyes following its movements as it did so.

"Hey, did you hear that Sanity's Fall is coming out with their album," the girl then caught the blue ball, stopping it from bouncing again.

Rolling her eyes, she faced her friend, "Yes, Larry, you've told me about one trillion times already,"

The boy smiled, walking over to his CD player, he got out a silver CD which sat in a clear case. On the top of the case, 'SANITY'S FALL' was written in full capitals with a black sharpie. Some of the ink had worn off because of how much he had either played the song or just held the case in his hand. However, before he could do anything, a knock was heard at his bedroom door. The two teens then shared a look, then looked back at the door.

"Hey, uh, Larry? Your mom said I should come to say hi. I just moved into 402," the voice said from outside the door.

The boy, Larry, then looked back at his friend. Depending on whether they should let the person in. The girl simply nodded, giving her friend the green light to let them in.

"Oh, hey, come on in. The door's open," Larry shouted from inside his room.

The wooden door then whipped open, revealing the person who had knocked in the first place. He had electric blue hair, his eyes being the same colour. He had styled his hair in two low pigtails. He sported a nice black long-sleeved shirt and a pair of ripped maroon pants on the bottom. He had multiple rings on his fingers, and finally, a mask sat upon his face, only leaving room for the two teens to see his bright blue eyes.
