Later in the evening, you had a date with Donnie
Sure it was just a small date, but it always made you feel nervous inside whenever you went out with him
Luckily, you both decided not to go out into the city for this date, but rather a small date under the stars, on a nice hill
You had always loved to go out at night, feeling comfortable as you watched the stars from above
Sitting in your living room, you paced back and forth, waiting for him to pick you up to go on your date
It was silent in your house, since your parents were away for the weekend, but you didn't mind the quiet
Thoughts flew in your head every second, trying to calm yourself down, you tried taking deep breaths
Hearing a knock on the door, you grabbed your small bag, and walked over to the door, and opened it
Seeing Donnie standing there with his hoodie over his head, you smiled, feeling some of your worries disappear
"Hey, are you ready to go?" He asked, one of his hands shoved into his pocket
You nodded, as you stepped out and closed your front door, locking it, before turning back to him
You both walk down the porch stairs, and walk down the sidewalk

As the two walked side by side, he debated on whether or not he should ask if they could hold hands, but decided not to ask, since Donnie wasn't all that comfortable with pda
They continued to walk in silence, but the turtle had took notice of his boyfriends actions, and sighed to himself, seeing how Y/n's eyes kept darting to his hand, to his own
"You know you can hold my hand, right?" Donnie said, looking over at him. Turning his head, he looked over at him, "I uh...I didn't know if you were comfortable with it"
"I told you last time, remember?"
"Haha...I forgot..." He smiled sheepishly as they walked in silence, again
He looked at the sidewalk, quiet, before feeling someone take his hand, he looked over and saw Donnie's hand in his
Blushing, he looked up at him, and smiled, seeing the turtle just looking ahead, smirking

Finally arriving at the hill, you two sat down, "So, how have things been with school?" He asked, sitting down, and getting comfortable
"Eh, it's been fine, the work isn't really that hard" He said, laying down on the blanket, "Your favorite class so far?" Y/n thought for a moment, "I'd say my astrology class"
"Astrology ey? That's new" Donnie said, laying next to him, "It was interesting, and I like space and all, so I thought I'd give it a try"
"Really now?" He looked over at the turtle, "Yeah, despite the school year barely starting, I've already learned a lot of facts" Donnie scooted closer to him, "Tell me some"
"Ah, uh, well, did you know that stars don't actually twinkle?" He asked, not expecting Donnie to ask on the spot, the soft-shelled turtle turned his head towards him, "Wait actually?"
"I uh...I thought you knew" Y/n said, looking at him in confusion, "Uhhhhh I don't focus a lot on astrology, anyways, why don't they twinkle?" Even with the tone of his voice, he knew that the turtle was interested
Y/n looked away and sighed, before looking back at him, "Well, they just appear to do so from our perspective on Earth"
"Huh, interesting" He smiled, looking over towards Y/n
"Yeah, due to something about the atmospheric refraction, cause our atmosphere reaches about 10,000km up from the surface of the Earth" He explained, looking up at the sky
"Hmm..." Donnie hummed, and looked up at the sky, seeing the stars, he grinned to himself as he looked at the stars
Y/n sat up, "Also, a star is born when atoms of light elements are squeezed under just enough pressure for their nuclei to undergo fusion" He said, starting to explain multiple facts about astrology that he could remember at the top of his head
He stared at his lover, finding it interesting how someone knew so much about space, something that will never end
Around 6 minutes passed by, and Y/n was sitting up, still telling Donnie lots of facts about space, stuff the turtle never knew about. But he didn't mind, he was just laying down, and listened intently to him, finding his voice very soothing to listen to
Finishing up another fact, he finally realized that he was rambling about astrology for the past minutes the both of them sat there, he quickly shut himself up, stopping the facts
Donnie looked at him in confusion, a minute had already passed, "Why'd you stop?" Y/n looked down at him, "I, uh...I was rambling, wasn't I?"
"Yeah? Love, what's wrong with that?" He asked Y/n. He looked away from the turtle, and shook his head at his lover. He was...ashamed of himself from him rambling, "It's just...isn't it weird, how I know so much about this stuff? It's not even all that interesting...I-...I'm sorry for talking so much about it-" He was cut off by Donnie now sitting in front of him, the turtles hands holding his own
"Darling, Y/n, it's okay that you were rambling about stuff that you liked, I don't mind it at all" He said, never taking his gaze off of him, "In fact, I love it when you talk about your interests"
This had caught Y/n's attention, "You...you love it?" He had to do a double take on what he had said, "Well, of course, it's adorable"
"People mostly tell me to shut up when I speak about it...it's nice for someone to like it..." He trailed off, causing Donnie to look at him in concern
Removing one of his hands, he lifted Y/n's chin up to look at him, "Dear, those people who said stuff about it, ignore them, alright? Talk about what you want to talk about, okay?"
Blushing, he slowly nodded, taking this moment in, "I...Thank you..."
"No probbles" Donnie said, smirking, "So, you wanna tell me more about astrology?" He asked, resting his head on his hand. "You sure?" Y/n asked, unsure if he should share more facts, "Of course"
"Let's get more comfy first"
The both of them were soon on their backs, looking up at the beautiful night sky, their hands intertwined together
He stopped ranting again, and looked over at the turtle. The silence caused him to look over at him, "What is it?"
"I love you..." Y/n said, smiling
Donnie stopped for a minute, before smiling back at him...
"I love you too, you dork"

I had gotten really unmotivated for this book, since school was kicking my ass, and my brain decided to stop me from writing 😓
