They didn't stop. Even though his lips were sore and his jaw ached, Katsuki felt like he could kiss Izuku forever. He wouldn't need food or water, he wouldn't need to sleep. All he needed was to keep kissing Izuku. As long as he was kissing Izuku, he could live forever.
That was, until a soft knock sounded at the hospital room door and the two boys jumped apart, repositioning themselves to look less obvious. With a glance at katsuki, Izuku cleared his throat and said,"Come in."
The door opened and in came me Aizawa, principal Nedzu and the chief of police. They wore grave, serious expressions. Aizawa turned bemused at the sight of Katsuki, though he quickly schooled his features back into a mask of indifference.
"I'm glad to see that you are alive," Nedzu squeaked, "however we have some rather unpleasant matters to discuss."
"Of course," Izuku responded, his voice so devoid of emotion it was hard to believe he was the same person who had kissed Katsuki only moments before. Katsuki's insides became heavy with nervousness, wondering what would happen to Izuku now when Aizawa spoke.
"Bakugou, give us the room, would you."
Katsuki stood and walked to the door, pausing to look back at Izuku. The older boy's lips quirked into a smile that said 'don't worry about it' Before the door swung shut, blocking Katsuki out entirely....
The door clicked closed softly after Katsuki and Izuku somehow felt that that was a noise condemning him to a terrible fate. The ring of older men stood around him, their faces somber, even Nedzu who had a tendency to be thoroughly energized at the worst of times.
"I'm afraid I bear bad news Midoriya," the rat-bear squeaked, nodding to Aizawa."You have violated not only the contract you signed in becoming a probationary teacher at UA, but also the Hero Commission Code of Conduct. You put yourself and students in unnecessary danger-"
"Hold up" Izuku cut in at this, "Unnecessary? A person was kidnapped. I did what I deemed necessary in order to save an endangered victim, and it all worked out in the end."
"You almost died, problem child," Aizawa said sternly, "and that is besides the point. Just because there were no major injuries to the other students involved, you still broke the rules by putting them at risk, and acting outside the Commission's direct orders."
"Yes, I understand that part but-"
"Midoriya, we're not arguing that what you did wasn't justified, or that it didn't work out in the end. But just because it did does not exempt you from the consequences of your actions." Nedzu cut Izuku off.
"Right," Izuku muttered "so, what's my sentence."
"Well first of all, your employment at UA is henceforth terminated and your hero licence will be suspended for three months, effective immediately." The fuzzy principal stated, his voice formal and void of feeling.
Izuku's heart sank a little at the news, but he retained the thought that things could have been much worse. He could have had his license permanently revoked, instead of only suspended. Plus, three moths seemed like a feeble punishment for direct defiance of the Comision's orders and the code. Izuku suspected that his victory over all for one and the overall success of his rescue attempt had softened his punishment.
Besides, it wasn't all bad. God knows Izuku could use the time off, and with the worries about his job out of the way...
Izuku almost instinctively shoved the thought down, but with a sudden jolt of realization, Izuku knew that this meant he didn't have to hide anymore.
He could finally allow himself to fall in love with Katsuki. Properly, he thought.
Yeah, he could get his career, his life, back on track; this time with Katsuki by his side. The way it always should have been.
Everything was going to be just fine for Izuku Midoriya."We'll just leave you then," Tsukauchi said, snapping Izuku out of his mind spiral. Izuku had all but forgotten that the three were there.
They filed out of the room silently, Aizawa taking a moment to look back at Izuku with a meaningful look that could have heald many meanings but that Izuku took to mean: 'I'm glad you're not dead, problem child'
Yep, everything was going to be totally fine.
...
Katsuki paced back and forth in the hall. The ticking of an unseen clock pounded in Katsuki's head until it became almost unbearable.
Katsuki Bakugo had had to do all together too much waiting in the past 24 hours and it was making him restless and jumpy.
Suddenly, after what felt like forever, the handle of Izuku's hospital room twisted and Izukus three visitors filed out. He shared a passing glance with Aizawa before reentering the room.
Izuku sat in the bed, same as when Katsuki had left, with a sort of contemplative look on his face. Katsuki knew that face all too well.
"Hey," he said, drawing Izukus gaze. Izuku looked up, a soft smile immediately overtaking his face.
"Hey,"
"So?" Katsuki asked, nudging his head to the direction the three men had just left "What was all that?"
"Nothing, nothing," Izuku said softly, that whimsical smile still painted across his face.
"Seriously? There's no way-" Katsuki began, indignant at Izuku's indistinct answer.
"Everythings going to be fine, Kat. Don't worry about it." Izuku said.
"Just fine huh?" Katsuki huffed.
"Yeah," Izuku said, a grin breaking over his features "everything's going to be great."
