Eywa?

I felt warm again...

...

I felt at peace...

...

I opened my eyes.

I found myself in a place, most familiar to me. I was at the Tree of Souls, which was back at home... In the forest. Why was I here of all places? I didn't know the answer. But I found myself drawn towards it. I felt no pain at that moment. I felt weightless, like the times in my dreams. As

I walked closer and closer, I noticed a woman sitting underneath the tree. "Mom..." I called out weakly. My voice came out at a waver. And she turned around to face me. She gave me a smile. I could tell that it was a sad one.

"My sweet child..." She called me. Mom tapped the ground beside her. I followed and sat beside her. Her face was so calming...I couldn't stop the tears from falling down my eyes. I began to cry out loud. "Shhh...I got you." Mother reassured me as I felt her smooth and gentle hands wrap around me, pulling me into a hug.

"I know...it hurts to leave them so soon. I had to leave your uncle soon too. It's alright." She reassured me.

...

...

I found myself laying down. My head was on her lap as she braided my hair and hummed a familiar tune to me.  Her hands felt so warm... I felt so relaxed at that moment. I almost completely forgot that I had died moments before. "Mom..." I started. "Yes?" She asked, brushing aside loose hair from my face.

"Who's my dad?" I found myself asking.

"Oh, my sweet little sunshine...he was the most majestic and romantic man that I had ever met. He was like the Sun. So strong and mighty, yet warm and graceful." She described him to me. "How come he's not here? Is he...still alive?" I asked. Mother paused for a moment.

I wondered why and turned my head to face her. A soft smile formed on her lips.

"He's back on Earth, my child." She told me. "Can he come to Pandora?" I asked. Hearing my request, she chuckled lightly. "No. Sadly, I'm afraid he's very busy...And he cannot leave Earth. That is where his home is. He needs to protect it because there's still hope for Earth." Her hand reached out to touch my cheek. "One day...this will all make sense. I'm sure of it." I was confused.

"What...How?" I asked.

I furrowed my brows.

"How will this all make sense if I'm dead?" I asked.

Mom looked up again, staring into the distance, and smiled. "Looks like she's here." Mom said, raising her hand from my face and extending her index finger. I followed my eyes to where she was pointing at. Not too far away, another woman was walking towards us.

As she got close, I held my breath. She had this indescribable beauty...more beautiful than a supermodel in one of Norm's magazines.

She had long licorice-black hair. I couldn't stop staring at her large, soft brown eyes. They were so attractive. She wore this beautiful, surreal, glowing white gown. And a cloak of what had appeared to be made out of strange bluish-greenish feathers draped over her shoulders. And then she carried a staff. On the top of the staff was a flower of some kind.

She looked like an actual goddess.

"Are you Eywa?" I immediately asked.

"No. I'm not. But I am...friends with her." She replied. Even her voice sounded so surreal and majestic. It soothed my nerves, if I had any as a spirit. "Okay then..." I started. "Are you here to take me to my personal heaven? Like a guide" I asked. "Not that at all." She shook her head, stepping forward.

Her staff disappeared into mist and both her hands cupped my face, pulling me close to her. I was confused, looking at my mom for answers, but she just chuckled. I turned back to look at the strange woman.

Her hands too, were radiating with warmth. I felt this sudden calmness again.

"My sweet little warrior. My savior!" She called me. I didn't think I knew her. I didn't think I even saved her. "I've watched you from afar. You are ideal. I have chosen you to play a part in this gamble. I cannot explain or tell you everything, but here. Eat this." A cookie was brought out of nowhere from her hands, and she shoved it in my mouth.

What I thought was a cookie didn't taste like one. It tasted...way more different. I think it tasted like the exact sturmbeest when I went on my first hunt with Mom. Like Neteyam, I had managed to make a clean kill on a sturmbeest. I remembered that memory and began to tear up. "What...what was that?" I asked. The woman smiled at me.

"It's something to help you, my savior." She replied. I became confused. "But...I'm dead." I told her. She just chuckled. "Just wait, my warrior. You'll see." I didn't understand why she called me "her" warrior. I was very confused. I didn't even know who she was.

But before I could ask more questions, she turned into mist and disappeared. I didn't understand what was going on. I turned my head to my mother. "Mom..." I called out to her. She turned her head, smiling at me sympathetically. "What...happened?" I asked. There was silence. Only her footsteps were heard as she made her way towards me. She raised her hand, touching the side of my face. I leaned into it.

"My sunshine..." She said,

"You'll find out one day. Give it time." She told me.
