Heather woke up the next morning with no one by her side. Heather turned over with a tired head and felt that Billy had been gone for a while, because his side of the bed was cold.

Heather saw a note on the pillow. 'I left earlier to go home so you could take your time getting ready. Billy.' Heather read.

Heather smiled and flicked the sheets off her and put the note on her desk. She walked downstairs and grabbed an apple from the fridge.

"Good morning, sweetie," sounded her father's voice.

He could barely stand and tried to walk toward Heather, but Heather walked away from him to grab a glass of water.

Patrick looked at his daughter in hurt, but Heather ignored his gaze.

Heather brushed her teeth and ran upstairs to shower.

Heather walked into her room with a towel wrapped around her hair and body. It made a huge difference that she had chosen her outfit a day before, otherwise she would be late every day.

"Are you walking to school or should I take you?" her mother sounded from the other side of the door. "I'll walk," said Heather as she looked at her outfit in the mirror.

Heather slung her backpack on her back and walked down the stairs.

Without saying anything, she closed door behind her and walked to school.

"Hi Heather," sounded Abigail's voice cheerfully. "Hi Abby," said Heather with a smile. "Who was that boy climbing through your window last night?" asked Abigail curiously. Heather blushed.

"No one, just someone I work with for school," lied Heather. "Oh, okay," said Abigail.

Heather watched as her neighbor girl ran back into the yard to play with her dolls.

Heather walked into the schoolyard. Two arms snaked around her waist.

"Hey, doll," said Billy to his girlfriend. "Hi, Billy," said Heather with a smile.
