It was at this hour that Kay began to panic, she'd sat down at the keyboard to play Fix You, Chris had given her the silent cue, but she'd forgotten how to play it, the nerves getting to her.
Finally as if a light bulb switched on, she began to play on the electric keyboard. Chris began to sing, there was a microphone right in front of the keyboard.
The crowd swayed as her brother sang. The second verse hit and Will stared playing the drums.
She smiled because this was her favorite part of the song, the fireworks, the lights, the everything, everything about this song was perfect.
The drum sticks hit the cymbals and fireworks shot up, exploding into a huge array of color.
"Tears stream, down your face, when you lose something you can not replace." The siblings sang in sync with one another, "tears stream down your face and I!" They held the I extra long, "tears stream, down your face, I promise you I will learn from my mistakes! Tears stream, down your face and I."
Kay signaled for her brother to take it away and bring them home. And her brother did just that, finishing the song, before making an announcement to the crowd, "my sister uh- Kay, I believe is dating someone and she'd like to- uh, dedicate this next song to him for being her yellow."
Kay stepped forwards, guitar strung around her neck, the microphone was on a stand, she breathed, pausing for a second as if to recalibrate. Then she played and sang like there was no tomorrow.
When she got to the second verse of the song, she added, "mi amor." (My love). After, 'I drew a line for you.'
She stood thier for a second, before turning around to see Chris standing behind her with the biggest, widest smile she'd ever seen.
"We will resume in twenty minutes after this short intermission." He said into the microphone, "please feel free to use the bathroom and get refreshments."
Chris had to pull her off the stage, "Kay, you did great."
"Thanks a lot for keeping a secret." She rolled her eyes, then began laughing, "whatever, word would've eventually gotten out anyways, may as well make it now and give me less of a fallout to deal with."
"Kay, check your phone." Chris said, sternly.
She pulled her phone of her pocket and saw what was sent in the family group chat, an article about her. She hated reading them, but it the headline caught her eyes.
