I snuck out of the room and went down to the lobby bright and early just to talk Lily. It's been a while since I bonded so well if somebody and it feels so nice to have somebody to talk to.

Just so she wouldn't panic, I shot Atlas a quick text letting her know that I'd be here.

When I got down there I saw her on her phone with her legs stacked up onto the desk. I smiled and snuck behind the front desk to scare. I placed my hands on her shoulder and shook her. She turned around and saw my face and giggled.

"Whyre you down here so early?!" She said as I pulled up a chair next to her.

"I wanted to come hang with you." I smiled. She also smiled and we held each others gaze for a moment.

"I saw Atlas stumble into the hotel really late last night." She said to which I rolled my eyes.

"I don't even know what she was doing out so late, when she got into the room I was already half asleep and she's still passed out so we haven't talked." I said.

"I'm so sick of her bullshit. But honestly, enough about her right now. I came down here to get away from that." I said and looked at the empty lobby.

After a few seconds of silence, I glanced back to Lily only to catch her glare fixated on me.

"What?" I smiled as I studied her face.

"Nothing." She just smiled at me.

Atlas POV

I woke up with less of a hangover than I expected. I glanced over and saw that it was already 10am. While my brain rebooted all of the events of yesterday, I turned over to try to touch Sam, only for my hand to fall onto the empty bed cover.

The hell? I sat up and looked around, noticing her phone and hotel keycard were gone. I glanced over and grabbed my phone from the nightstand and saw a text from her.

I'll be in the lobby when you wake up.

She's probably still mad from yesterday. I frowned and sighed.

"Pull it together Atlas, if not for yourself, for her." I mumbled to myself.

Hopping out of bed, I brushed my teeth and showered, throwing on a cute short sundress and grabbing my phone and hotel key before leaving the hotel room. Today is the last full day here, so I'm pretty sure we're gonna go out to dinner tonight. I need to not fuck this up more than I already have.

I made my way down to the lobby and looked around for Sammy. After a few seconds of looking I saw her sitting in a chair talking to the receptionist who checked us in when we first arrived.

The woman's smile was wide as she spoke to Sam and Sam was giggling. I didn't realize that they knew each other.

As I approached them and Sam noticed my presence, both of their demeanors shifted. Sams big genuine smile slightly faded.

"Uh, Lily! This is Atlas." She said as she stood up and exited from behind the front desk. I wrapped my arm around hers and smiled at the woman who's name I now knew is Lily.

"Hi, I'm her girlfriend." I smiled politely. She smiled as well and nodded.

"I've heard a lot about you. It's nice to finally meet you." She said as I shot a cheeky look to Sam.

"Aw you talk about me?" I teased, but didn't get a giggle out of Sam. She simply smiled somewhat uncomfortably at me.

Odd.

"Anyway, we should get going. But I'll see you later? We're probably gonna come back down here for dinner." Sam said.

"Yeah Ofcourse! Have a good day. Nice to meet you Atlas!" Lily smiled. I nodded as Sam and I walked away.

As we got further away from Lily and entered the elevator I turned to look at Sam. She looked at me with a blank expression.

"What?" She said.

"What, I can't look at you now?" I said jokingly, but she didn't laugh.

Sam looked away as she elevator opened and walked ahead to our room. Butterflies grew in my stomach, and they weren't the good ones.

"Are you mad at me?" I mumbled from behind her.

"No." Sam said dryly.

We approached our hotel room and she turned around and waited for me to catch-up and unlock the door. I walked past her and unlocked it, holding the door open for her. She walked in without saying anything as I followed.

"I know I messed up. I'm sorry, and I promise I'll do better today. But you know I hate the silent treatment." I said as I watched her sit on the bed.

Sam silently stared at me as I stood in front of her.

"Sammy?" I said as I crept closer to her. Her gaze left my eyes and slowly scanned down my body.

Honestly, it was making me uncomfortable. I wasn't sure what was going through her head right now, but I just want her to talk to me.

"You're making me uncomfortable." I said quietly. Sam snapped out of whatever trance she was in and frowned at me.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. Honestly, I am a bit upset." She said, as her gaze turned to the floor. I sat down next to her.

"I'm sorry." I said, as I watched the expression on her face go blank again.

"How about i make it up to you? We can go out to dinner tonight!" I said excitedly.

Sam looked unamused, but agreed.

The restaurant Sammy picked was surprisingly the hotel owned one. I implored her to go somewhere different but she insisted and since this was me trying to make up my behavior to her, I agreed.

When we walked in, it was really packed and I glanced over and was surprised to see the same receptionist from earlier greeting people as they walked in. It's like she's every at this point.

"Lily is here." I pointed out and looked at Sam.

Her face lit up. I furrowed my eyebrows causing her to notice and fix her expression.

We sat down and Lily approached our table.

"Hey girls! What can I get you both to drink?" Lily said as she placed one hand on Sams back. Sammy looked at her and smiled. Suddenly jealously filled my chest.

"I'll just get a water." I said.

"Me too." Sam said as she smiled at Lily again. It was like they were the only two people around, their eyes were focused on each other and each other only. But I'm convincing myself that I'm just being jealous.

"Alright I'll get that for you both." She walked away.

This was gonna be an interesting night.
