Author's Note: Just kind of an FYI in case this chapter reads weird (at least I think it does) after the time skip Dazai is having a sort of "second wind" or "adrenaline is a hell of a thing" moment.

As usual, most italicized stuff = internal thoughts

Ranpo snagged an unopened sweet bun from the table and began eating. "Just as I thought." He said after finishing a second bite. "These," he gestured to the bun in his hand, "are from a bakery downtown." He polished off the bun and pointed to the map of downtown Yokohama that I grabbed from the main office. "The rest of these items are from around roughly the thirty-block radius from there. Two blocks to the left is a convenience store with a row of capsule machines in front." The shorter man grabbed four specific toys and stood them up on top of the store's location.

"There are two small competing clinics 19 blocks over here," he grabbed the smallest stuffed animal and placed it on the block across from the clinics. Ranpo then grabbed the rest of the capsule toys and the occasional broken chip or piece of candy, placing them around the thirty-block radius.

"It looks like our impersonator had a very specific shopping day. Nearly every place he purchased from has been connected to the Port Mafia at one point or another. Like here," he pointed to a small building with a capsule machine in front of it. "It used to be an antique shop that exported drugs for the Mafia. And this bakery over here," He pointed to another building, "is a well-known hotspot for their people, like how Agency members and clients often use the café downstairs. And those two clinics used to be a big money laundering operation before it was burned down when the old Port Mafia boss started losing his mind."

Dazai stopped listening for a moment and just stared at the map.

No. Ranpo was wrong. He may be inhumanely smart and quick-witted when he wants to be, but he's not omniscient. ALL of these places still have a connection to the current Port Mafia. While they don't move product anymore, most of these places are indebted to the Mafia or paying for something. And together, those two clinics housed The Underground Morgue. A storage place for bodies likely to no be buried for a while. The same morgue currently holding the last people to see Chuuya alive.

Author’s Note: For the clinics/Underground Morgue, I was picturing something like this.
