Once I got home, JJ wasn't there. Only my dad was. "Hi dad," I smiled, pressing a kiss to his cheek. JJ and my father didn't get along at all, but I had always been my daddy's little girl. "Have you seen JJ?"

Dad shrugged, "probably off with your idiot friends somewhere." Right, that helps. I went into my bedroom and plopped myself down on my bed. Maybe I could see his location on find my iPhone, if he had signal wherever he was. Luckily, he did. He was somewhere in the middle of the woods. John B's location was in the same spot. I didn't want to go into the woods on my own at this hour, so I decided to call one of my school friends, Sophie. I asked her if she wanted to go out for a drink and she agreed, so we went out into town and found a nice bar.

"A beer please," I smiled at the bartender as I sat down. He frowned at me, seeing that there was clearly no way that I was twenty-one. He shrugged it off and poured me a beer, placing it on the counter in front of me. Sophie ordered a white wine and we were chatting as we drank our drinks.

"So you do have friends after all, angel?" I felt a warm breath in my neck as he spoke and my breath hitched in my throat.

"Can you for once not sneak up on me?" I turned around to face Rafe.

He shot me a smug smile, "where's your brother?"

"What do you care?"

"Hm," he hummed, "nothing much, just making sure I won't have a gun pointed at me for talking to you."

"Wow Rafe, you're so funny," I turned away from him, taking a sip of my beer.

"I wasn't joking, angel."

With that, he walked away. Sophie's eyes turned big and she shoved my shoulder. "Was that actually Rafe Cameron?" She whisper-shouted. "Talking to you?"

"It's nothing, Soph."

"Nothing? He called you angel. Why did he call you angel?"

I groaned and ignored her question, chugging my beer back. At that moment, my phone rang.

"You have to come to the Chateau right now. John B has something," Kie's voice sounded through the speakers. Before I could answer, she hung up on me.

"I'm sorry, Soph. I think this is important. I have to go." Sophie nodded understandingly and gave me a hug.

"It's fine, I'll enjoy myself. If you want to come back later, feel free," she smiled. I nodded and threw a couple of dollars on the counter for the beer, before running to my bike and driving to the Chateau.

"Well, what is it?" I asked as soon as I got into the house.

"Listen." John B said. He then played a tape recording that his father left for him.

"If something happens to me, finish what I started. Go for the gold, kid." Big John's voice sounded through the speaker. After John B had calmed down from hearing his father's voice, we went out to the docks to enjoy the evening air.
