After Sonic and Emily defeated Infinite, Sonic warned everyone that Eggman's plan had "Gone into overtime!" (His words, not mine)
"The Phantom Ruby's signal is moving underground!" Tails warned us over his communicator one second after Sonic warned us, "Eggman's up to something again!"
"The Doctor hasn't given up yet," Said Shadow, "Don't drop your guards no matter what."
"Emily, can you find a way into the Central Tower like where you went to rescue Sonic?" Crystal asked Emily calmly.
"That's what Daddy and I tried," Said Emily, "It's blocked off now and being guarded by many scary Mephileseseseses."
"Huh?!" We all wondered, except for Shadow.
"We ran into Mephiles in Null space," Shadow explained, "He scared Emily, so I told her to avoid him at all costs."
"Don't worry, everyone." I told the Highground, "I always have a backup plan, and that is to look for the front entrance."
"Got it!" Everyone confirmed and began their search, all except for me and my Beloved.
"Well, let's get looking, Beloved."
"I dunno, Espio..." Crystal looked out at the sea of enemies, robots and missile turrets, "Are you sure we can make it through there alive?"
I'd seen this coming from miles away, so I brought an incentive for her...
A box of chocolate chip cookies, her favourite.
"Would you do it for a cookie?" I asked, taking one out of the box and showing it to her.

She looked at it excitedly, then looked back to the enemy side and got worried again.
"Would you do it for five cookies?" I asked, pulling out four more cookies. She looked back to me and smiled with joy.
"YESYESYEAYESYES!!!!!!!" She cheered excitedly, took the cookies and ate them. Then she paused and looked at me with a cute, angry and playful face. "Hey, you tricked me!"
"No backsies~" I said playfully and guided her over to the battlefield.
When everybody, including Amy and Princess Sally whom flew over to us in one of their jets, got to the entrance, I announced that "This fortress is going to be very big and very heavily guarded on the inside. Whom are willing to go through that many deathtraps, destroy the reactor within and escape when this fortress inevitably blows up?"
Everybody looked around worriedly, nobody wanted to risk themselves...all except...
"I'll do it!" Emily raised her hand. We all looked at her, worried. "I'll blow up that reactor."
"Emily, no!" Sonic said and put a firm hand on her shoulder, "I'm sorry, Emily, but this is way too dangerous for you."
"But didn't you run into factories and fortresses with deathtraps when you were a kid?" Emily asked Sonic.
"I was much older than five, Emily." Said Sonic. "I'm very sorry, but I can't let you do this alone."
His frown turned into a smile, "Which is why," He said happily, "Papi and I are coming with you!"
"YAY!!!!!!" She cheered and leaped into a hug, "Thank you, Daddy! I love you and Papi!!"
"We love you too, our little girl." Shadow rubbed the child's back while smiling, something which caught everyone except me and Amy off guard.
No POV:
But before they went in, Sonic turned to Amy and told her,
"I'm sorry I never returned your love, but I don't see you as anything more than a friend."
"It's ok, Sonic." Amy smiled, "I've found happiness in the last place a person would expect," She looked to Princess Sally, "In the friend zone." Amy gave a quick friend hug to Sonic then pulled away. Funnily enough, she didn't accidentally strangle him that time.
Shadow turned to Rogue and told her that,
"If I don't make it out of that fortress alive, I'll bequeath my guns to you and Knuckles."
"Are you sure, Grumpy?" Rogue asked him, "Your guns are the most important thing to you."
"There were," Shadow smiled back at his boyfriend and daughter. "But I've found two very important people to replace them."
He then turned back to Rogue just in time to see her makeup start to run.
"Give me a break, Rogue." Shadow groaned and pulled a tissue box from his quills, handing it to Rogue and watched her dab at her eyes.
Finally, Little Emily looked up at Crystal and told her,
"I think that you're very cool and funny and, if it's ok and I leave this fortress in one piece, would you like to play with me one day?"
"Of corse, Emily." Crystal smiled, "I think that you're very cool and funny, too. I'd love to play with you, and we could even be besties."
"What's a bestie?" Emily asked.
"It's another word for best friend, Kid." Said Espio.
"Ooh!" Said Emily excitedly, "I'd love to be besties, Crystal!!"
"Ok then." The cat smiled and waved goodbye as the little rabbit and her adopted parents ran into the fortress, thus starting the final judgement.
